Wow, that sucks. It's probably because he's turned signing into a business venture on ebay. He must figure that with all the signed stuff he sells that if you want something of his you need to buy it from his store.

For what it's worth I wouldn't want his signature anyways. He signs so much crap that it's basically guaranteed that the second he scribbles his name on your item it gets devalued.

I agree with your first part... alot of ex-pro athletes do this.. maybe not on ebay, but they are out there.

For the second part, I would have to somewhat disagree..

Yes, severn signs so much stuff that his auto is more commonplace on the market thus prices on *certain* items would drop...due to a flooding of marketplace..

however, if say you had a UFC 4 signed by card poster or any Severn owned and worn in actual UFC event gear from him signed....
I dont think his auto devalues these memorabilia pieces.. Phone Post

this is sad to hear. I still need him to sign a boxergenics glove for my collection. Not really worried about the value, just want to have it for my glove collection of the greats of mma.

He signed a boxergenics glove for me when I met him. He also tried getting me to go to his nutritional supplement website, and was doing the hard sell on that.

He signed an exclusive deal with American Icon Autographs out of San Diego. They made a run of 16x20 'photos' of UFC 4,6,9 and another one. HE can only sign that for them, unless its a fullsize poster until they are sold out or a 'specific' time period has passed

Not saying the info is false, but I've met Brittany twice now the latest being at UFC on FOX 2 and she was signing everything that was asked. Some guys had her sign about 5 mags which I think is rediculous.

I got pics with her too in and outside the hotel on two different occasions. (no I'm not a stalker)

They are only exclusive to certain images, not to all items.

Thats why Palmer signed for you, and I think they only did a private signing its not exclusive.

iSsUEs -Frank & Son is about to have a ton of MMA fighters rolling through that place, almost as many mma fighters as they have wrestlers

D1no Brittany was at frank and sons the other week signing. $20 a sig. When I said they wouldn't let them sign that was at the event. If you catch any of them around town they will gladly sign. I've met Brittany twice cool as hell.
If frank and sons has signings there not free. Your gonna pay for the sig and extra for any inscriptions. Phone Post

I know the drill with F&S 9 out of 10 fighters will be 15/20 a sig, but we're talking fighters that you'd gladly pay 15/20 for

flat rate for everything, it was part of the negotiations.

its the players that stagger their price structure

not always... sometimes the players charge the person holding the event a flat appearance fee..

then the person holding the event can set their prices for flat items, jerseys, bats, etc...

This is the way some promoters of the show try to get some of their money back. Phone Post

example: fighter A can charge promoter $50,000 for an appearance fee which can include signing and pics..

promoter pays the $50,000 and then proceeds to set prices for dif items I.e. flat, jersey, glove, etc.

promoter will also sell supplies and 8x10s etc at the event to fans as impulse buy type of deal.. Phone Post

thanks for the explanation, who would have known that after 15 years I wouldnt know how my day job works.

Frank & Son dont set the prices, the players do. And 90% of the time a public signing is based on what is sold, private signing is a flat rate

And yes it will ALWAYS BE A FLAT RATE, and it will ALWAYS be set by the fighter

I am not telling you how to do your job or anything like that..

I am just stating that NOT all athletes and show promoters do it the way you are stating..

On occasion I have seen numerous promoters pay a flat rate fee to athlete.

then these same promoters can/could set their own price for dif items..

They will get their money back from these sales, admission fees, parking fees, and table setup rental fees.

Some promoters do it the way you do it at Frank & Sons however.

this was the point I was merely stating thats all.. Phone Post
