Wasn't the first Nick Diaz problem about him being high -during- the fight?

2JupitersTooMany -  Nick is paranoid sometimes, IMO, and it hurt him with the charity deal, my humble opinion, but I'm glad he isn't rolling over like a pussy with this marijuana nonsense, also my humble opinion which you can disagree with, but I personally salute him for not being a bitch as he gets burned by all this absurdity. Will always love Nick Diaz. Phone Post

Salt the Snail - I'm so tired of Cesar Gracie and the bullshit he spews.

Where exactly was the bullshit in what he said?

Dawggy - LOL at this bs. Nick is lucky he wasn't suspended longer than a year. All he had to do was apply for an exception but he was too lazy to do that or have someone else do it for him. This was his second offense in the same damn state... and he admitted that he lied to the commision back in '07. What did he expect to happen? Just take some damn responsibility for your actions. Nobody's fault but his own. certainly doesn't help that Cesar is condoning this behavior.
He never lied ! Is this a surprise to you?

You didn't know nick smokes out?

Wow you must be shocked .....

Shut up already Phone Post

2 weeks ago everyone was all "nick just lost a fan. Can't flake on charity.". Now everyone's all "leave nick alone!". The fuck outa here. He could have brought in a dr to testify that he "needs" his herb to properly focus and train. That would have been some funny shit. Phone Post

Honesty was definitely the wrong approach. If Nick had gone in with some kind of doctor's certificate and acted remorseful he probably would have got a slap on the wrist. Phone Post

Mind you, NSAC is not the most honest organization outhere,
I know it's the mecca of combat sports, but seriously do you need their approval to fight in other states or countries? I smell the bullcrap in deep waters here, does some one or some entity have any benefit of damaging mma's reputation and their fighters? im just asking

Lol at a 3rd year law school student thinking that has any relevance here. It's not hard to see that had he not smoked herb in the first place, he wouldn't have any of these problems. Also, this was his second time getting popped for the same shit. He's lucky his punishment was only a yr suspension. Imagine of he was busted twice for roids. Would probably take yrs to get licensed again.

He fucked up. Rather than man up and say that, he decides to claim mistreatment and try to poke holes in the nsac statutes. Doesn't make any difference to the nsac. If this were a first offense the outcome would have been a lot different. You don't have to kiss ass to stay employed. But as a man, just admit what you did and take your punishment without bitching about it. Christ. Phone Post

So... If he has a "prescription" for medical marijuana, how did he not lie on his form when asked if he had taken any prescription or OTC medication within the past 'x' days?

I don't know the facts behind his use and how long before filling out the form he stopped smoking, but some people have offered up that he would need to quit about 2 weeks ahead of time. The average person takes almost 30 days to rid their system of any traces of marijuana, according to http://neonjoint.com/passing_a_drug_test/detection_times.html . That is, if they use 2-4 times a week.

Both he and his lawyer have been shooting off at the mouth about how horrible and hypocritical NSAC has been. Do you honestly think that is going to catch you any favors?

Now... A MMJ script isn't likes CCH. Due to the fact that marijuana is a federally controlled substance, his California MMJ license does nothing for him in Nevada, unless he has a license in Nevada too. That is a moot point, however because he was not following NSAC protocol and he lied on his pre-fight questionnaire. Phone Post

McCorkleViaObesity - Heat the oil up to 380 degrees. You should probably use a thermometer first until you can gauge it by sight and sound. If its not hot enough your french fries are going to be soggy by the time they are fully cooked. If you have it to hot the fries will be crisp on the outside and raw in the middle. 380-385 is usually what I use when cooking with peanut oil. Just depends on what i'm making.

mijo - Good call for NSAC. This was not his first time.

Chael Sonnen said using TRT was legal. Now he is claiming Theraputic! Why does he have to claim anything if its legal. Fuck Sonnen. Cheater.

Just like Diaz!

Ceasar Gracie, Jon Jones went to jail for DWI. How did he get away with it? I don't understand his logic.

Ceasar Gracie is a bad influence on Nick Diaz.
Good call??? Ur a fuckin dumbass if u believe weed is a "performance enhancer"......its pretty obvious what happened here.....nsac got butthurt that nick actually had the balls to get a lawyer and challenge them....if he came in by himself and admitted he made a mistake and kissed their ass he would get a 6 mo susp guaranteed....i hope nick appeals this...i think he would have a good shot in an appeal in front of a real judge(not the make believe ones in nsac)....<br>Source: im a 3rd year law school student at rollins college, so unless u guys jave better credentials then that stfu and listen to what i say...kudos for nick for not backing down and kissing ass....this exposed nsac for what they really are...a corrupt organization that is ok with fighters roiding and will give them only a 9 mo suspension (reem) but not ok with a guy smoking weed a week before the fight <img src="/images/phone/apple.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>

All I read here was I'm a 5 year ITT Tech law student with horrible spelling and grammar... blah blah blah.....
At the end of the day, Nick failed to file for a medical MJ exemption (second offense), admitted to lying to the commission back in 2007 when he failed the first time. MJ is a federally controlled substance, his CA card/prescription only gives him a pass in CA, not in NV. He has to abide by that states laws and that states commissions rules. He doesn't take responsibility for any of his actions and whines and pouts when things don't go his way. His lawyers, the ones who actually have law degrees, should have given him better counsel but I'm sure a 5 yr ITT tech law student could've done better

Lol at 5yr ITT law student. You're right tho, his lawyers should have advised him to go another route. Although who knows if Nick went against them, it honestly wouldn't surprise me Phone Post

The MGM Grand bought the Overeem/JDS fight which the NSAC screwed up... hence the consilitory reduction in his suspension and begging him to come back in time for NYE...

The MGM Grand also bought the Chael/Silva fight hence the felatio before granting Mr Sonnen his testosterone exemption and then offering him a job.

Nick Diaz isnt slated for a fight nor has a big casino purchased a future fight... what he did do though is sue the NSAC, and hire a good lawyer that made them look like rubes... hence the proverbial finger at the end with his sentencing.

There's talk of Zuffa administering there own tests and people are saying they cant be trusted... or it's gonna be like the WWE... you know how much influence Zuffa could have with these commissions if they wanted?  they could be just as bad as boxing promoters but they want to be the exact opposite.  They want the full penalties for guys getting caught.

It's the MGM who the NSAC is now messing with and they dont take no shit.  I suspect out of competition drug testing to be "defunded" like it was supposed to be becuase it ruins fights before they happen... the casinos dont care much about what happens after the event takes place.

Zuffa is planning to administer their own testing protocol NOT because they want a clean sport but because they want to make sure their fighters can actually beat the tests before they invest in promoting fights that have ramifications on future fights.

A 100% clean sport is impossible no matter what testing you do... they wont tell you that though.   They just want guys to stop testing positive for shit so Zuffa is setting up a "simulation" so the fighters and their chemists can up their game.

If they cant beat Zuffa's test then it makes no sense for Zuffa to promote and place them in a big fight.

It's all about the benjamins.

Why didn't Cesar Gracie as the "Manager" submit a valid Marijuana Card, signed Doctor's documentation of Nick's disorder and full disclosure to the Commission prior to his fights?

Both fights the same BS story but bottom line the "Manager" did not submit/disclose all the necessary signed documentation to Commission Officials.

I love Nick's fighting style and his warrior spirit but someone has got to take the Managerial role in the Cesar Gracie Team. Cesar is an awesome BJJ Guru and Coach but that is his limit.
