After Vitor Belfort dropped out of next month's long, long, long awaited rematch with Wanderlei Silva, the Axe Murderer took to Twitter, expressed pointed dissapointment. Translation by Tatame.

“(Fighting me) with one hand (laughs)? We are professionals. It’s a great irresponsibility not to be careful on training, a great disrespect towards the fans. I’m really sad. I’m ready to knock you out, you have nowhere to run. This fight is happening. I guess you got scared of me. Nobody trains so hard that breaks his hand. We use the best equipments, gloves, bandages."

“If you were scared, you shouldn’t have accepted it. If you really got it broken, it’s amateurism and if you didn’t, you’re scared. In both scenarios, it was irresponsible of you towards the fans. Pardon the word, but I’m pissed with your amateurism. A main event on the biggest event of the world and the guy shows up like that."

Without addressing Wanderlei by name, Belfort responds.

“The emotional imbalance of some reveals their fears. I than your support big time and also my sponsors. Believing in yourself is not being arrogant. I’m still confident and I respect my opponent, which now is my injury."

Addressing Wanderlei by name, Vitor Belfort's wife, Joana Prado, responded as well, making pointed reference to Belfort beating Wand in 44 seconds (in 1998) and Wand losing to Chris Leben in 27 seconds in mid 2011.

The only thing Wanderlei can do is talk too much, he chickened out several times on fighting Vitor. And now he comes to mention that my husband is ducking? Wand's next opponent, at UFC147 will beat Vitor Belfort's record of 40 or Chris Leben's 20 seconds hahahaha.

I'm actually curious how often people break their hand in training.

Sour grapes by Wand, Belfort has a legit broken hand, plus I'm sure he was confident of beating Wand, as much as I love Wand Belfort is a terrible match up or him. He has serious power and Wand is a bit chinny these days Phone Post

He helped Randy train for Noguiera even though they were on the same team for years.

To those of you saying that "getting injured happens" and blah blah blah, I offer this:

Vitor Belfort has pulled out of more big fights in his career than anyone else.

This is a fact. I'd love to see a list. It happens all the fucking time.

I think Wandy's just really upset about his future pay per view cut, who's going to order that event??

Doesn't Vitor have a history of broken hands?  It's one thing to break your hand in the middle of a fight and keep going but most people won't enter a fight with a broken hand, especially when your punching is your go to move.

I'm not disputing that. Clearly a broken hand is something most people wouldn't fight with. But the number of fights Vitor has pulled out of for a myriad of reasons is the exact reason people have questioned Vitor's heart and have called him a head case in the past.

And please don't bring up his sister. That was a terrible tragedy that no one should ever have to experience. But Vitor was thought of as a head case in this sport long before that event happened in his life.

Yep I agree

and I would love to see that list as well

As soon as I heard the news, first thing I thought of, was this happens to Vitor all the time

Its not just Brazilians but people who can see Vitor beyond the Vitor hype.

1) Many Brazilian fighters come from camps and train together. When they train together they refuse to fight each other. Vitor was one of the first to do such things. he jumped camp to camp and is still doing it today. hes basiclly braking a code of honor in Brazil. Fights guys he trained with for years and years. Shogun-Wandy, Anderson-Machida but Vitor and who? hes a hood hopper in ghetto terms

2) He says hes a better athlete and man then Wanderlie? Yet his actions and lieing on TUF brazil prove other wise. Not just that but everyone knows Wandy as one of the kindest warm heartedest fighters in MMA. Hes a man because he speaks from the heart and doesnt have to scheme to get things done. Doesnt have to jump camp to camp and challenge old friends and people he still knows well to get ahead in MMA.

3) Vitor has always been a big dud. Just look at his career. He was suppost to be the next big thing at LHW but failed miserably. That win over Randy is BS and his biggest win to date is probably old Linland rankings wise. He failed in Pride against gatekeeper AO and failed in UFC as well.

UFC just knows how to market Vitor well enough to blind people into thinking hes this elite monster. When in fact his last top 10 win at MW was against Lindland almost 4 years ago.

kanodogg2 -  Wanderlei is more delusional than ever. He has no room to talk after the shellacing that was the first fight. Maybe they should just offer him Brian Stann, someone wanderlei actively dodged with the pathetic excuse that he didn't want to be booed fighting an American hero. I don't think the brazillians will cheer for stann over wanderlei. Phone Post

 what a noob post.
Coming from a poster named pride rules your post doesn't surprise me. His post makes alot of sense. Phone Post
Yeah let's let every up and comer make a name of wandy, he doesn't get nearly as much fame, if he beat leben, no one would have cared, he beat bisping and no one cares... But it's doesn't go the other way. Phone Post

This.

Wanderlei REFUSED a fight with The All American Brian Stann and gave some lame excuse. If he wants to duck people that's fine but don't go calling Vitor out.

Wand doesn't want any of the power Brian Stann has.

Why would Vitor duck a chinny guy who he already stomped years easily?

Why is this a lot less offensive than A. Silva's Belfort diss on TUF? 90% of you had your panties in a bunch and called him a scumbag when he essentially said the same thing Wand just did. At least Anderson KO'd Belfort and didn't get destroyed in 40 seconds like Wand.

By the way Brazilians don't like Belfort because he has no sense of loyalty. He's backstabbed everyone he's trained with from Carlson to Shawn Tompkins.

I'm pretty sure all you people saying why many Brazilians don't like Vitor is way off.  Most of it stems from him being a Kim Kardashian like reality tv star.  I think it was Big Brother that he was on, and many Brazilian fighters did not like how he got a lot of his fame.

Wanderlie owns a gym in LAs vegas and trains at King MMA. he has a strong base of American MMA fans along with his Brazilian fans. he wasnt scared that Brazilian fans would pull for Stann you fools but American fans. That would effect his gym buisness he believes and his fan base in the U.S. he doesnt like being the bad guy ever.

Second Vitor is a no one comapred to Wanderlie. Wanderlie has a legacy to look back at. What does Vitor have? a slew of injuries, destructions by smaller fighters, failing to live up to the hype that was built around him.

Feel free to bign up there fight from the beggening of both there careers but the fact is Wanderlie went onto become a legend and a pioneer and all Vitor is and will always will be is a pioneer who never went onto to be a legend in the sport. Vitor couldnt fight his way to get a fight with Wanderlie in Pride.

also Wanderlie has 17 more fights then Vitor and a more consistant career of fighting at the big leagues and winnning and being in Wars. It takes its toll but i dont expect people who dont train to understand

I love Wand, but this was the wrong response. You don't get to have the career Vitor Belfort has had by being scared.
