I tried to get a photo but I was at Campbell industrial park and warehouses and giant tankers were blocking any view.

It was too late.

The sun was a dark orange and the sky in the west was dark orange as well. It was lighting up everything a bright orange color.

Never seen anything like it.

I learn now it was due to the 1,000 acre wild fire in Waianae. The smoke is what caused it.

But I think the atmosphere must have been very clear because the sun and moon looked gigantic.

But why was the moon red? Phone Post

I was in LA when MT Pinatubo blew up...a week later, the skies and sunsets were SURREAL...intensely red mixed with darker reds etc...it truly looked like the end of the world.

Pinatubo sunsets were CRAZY. I still remember them all these years later.
