Can I encourage you to post transcripts also? I can usually read a transcript in less than 1/2 the time it takes to listen to an interview, I don't have to turn off any music apps I'm listening to, put on headphones, wait for anything to load, etc, etc.

I know that probably sounds ridiculous to the new generation, but there's probably still a few of us that would rather read it than hear/watch it.

Just a thought. Phone Post

guida was atrocious but that fight also showed a weakness in Maynards game...  he almost lost to that nonsense when all he had to do was clinch, knee and dirty box his face into oblivian.   Maynard is a bit slow and stubborn... he needs to learn how to adjust quicker and to use all his skills.

maynard didnt even wanna wrestle or press him up against the fence.

I see what you're saying but it takes two to tango. One guy shouldn't have to chase another guy all over the cage to try and get ahold of him...it's supposed to be a fight!

This fight reminded me of Rocky chasing the chicken down in Rocky 2.

^ true but you shouldnt lose 2 rounds to that nonsense (3 rounds on one judges card)... fighters need to start shutting down these nonsense point fighters and beating them at their own game.

But then you'd have two guys running away from each other.

If one fighter simply does not want to engage, it can be pretty hard for the other guy to close him down enough to get his hands on him.

I like ur post Logic. A great fighter is able to adjust in a fight and use what ever advantage or disadvantage he finds in a fight to win. Its rare you find someone who can mentally adjust and act so quickly.

I don't think the punch stats reflect all of the crying. Clay was landing. His cardio is his advantage, he should play to his strengths. He works hard for that cardio advantage. The guy was till bouncing around with energy after the fight.

I'd love to see Edgar/Maynard IV. With each fight, it was more excitement, and I think the UFC could definitely benefit from a first-ever fourth fight.

Sam Soul - Guida should have been DQ'd for blatant rule breaking and disregard to the unified rules.

Under the unified rules Section 15 Fouls
Article xxvi- Timidity, including, without limitation, avoiding contact with an opponent, intentionally or consistently dropping the mouthpiece or faking an injury

http://www.ufc.com/discover/sport/rules-and-regulations

Clay Guida hid his dirty fighting under a thinly veiled "game plan". Guida is a cheat, and a rule breaker. Running around for a game plan is pure dirty fighting and shows no regard to the rules.
Its as classless as blatantly gouging an opponent's eye or constantly low blowing them.

Each of those 5 round should have been 10-8 rounds for Maynard, Guida losing several points for fighting timidly due to avoiding contact with Maynard.

Well, im not saying Gray's answer should be to run away as well... I am saying he could have said fuck it and just bum rushed him against the fence and proceeded to dirty box and knee his face into oblivian.

Gray grabbed onto him almost everytime he wanted to but he wanted  a boxing match.

My problem is that if Guida executed his nonses just a little bit better he would have beaten Gray... not because he was the better fighter but because Gray wouldnt make simple adjustments.

Instead of trying to run after him with punches, it's alot easier to just grab him, push him up against the fence and begin the rape.

if he would have done this after the first or even the second round the fight would have likely been over before the 5th.

Octagon Mom - Greg Jackson should just open a track and field gym.

FUCK GREG JACKSON GAMEPLANS!
MMA is not the WWF. It's a pro sport. Fighters should use the best strategy they can come up with.

Maybe you missed Cub's fight?

Sitting down in the centre of the octagon seems like the only other option ?

What they could do is put two treadmills Infront of each other (just out of striking range ) .
That way it would save (octagon) space and you could have 4 or 5 fights on at the same time !
That way whoever covers the most distance with the most thrown (but obviously not landed ) strikes in the 15 / 25 mins allocated wins ! Phone Post
