i drive my 85 22r and sometimes when i turn it off, i can't turn it back on. when i turn the key, i don't hear or feel the cranking, and no clicks. just nothing. i try to turn it 6 times in a row and nothing. i come back 25 minutes later and it starts? what kind of problem is this? ignition coil, ignition relay, or starter?

ok i took out the starter and it tested it at autozone and it tested fine. battery has full distill water.

only thing it could be is a ignition coil? or starter relay or ignition relay? or bad cables?

man what else could or should i check?

OH.....I remember this symptom.

Next time it does it, turn the key to start a shitload of times and report back at the results.

This is pretty common on the 22re. I know you checked the starter but it's usually the contacts. If your contacts are good have a look here. http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/Starter.shtml#OtherOptions

Hence my "turn the key a shitload of times".

If it eventually starts, the contacts inside the starter soleniod have worn down.

Toyota has a kit for some of the starters that costs a fraction of the price for a starter.
