Sometimes you are looking for novel ways to help train your fighter with more zoning/angling for ringmanship. We call this style of holding the pads "INSEP-style" because it was at INSEP (l'Institut National du Sport, de l'Expertise et de la Performance) in France that I first saw this type of Mitt configuration used to train high level fighters(legendary Savate fighters like Richard SYLLA and Francois PENNACCHIO have also utilized this configuration). Different uses when you don't have the Belly Pad or when you are looking to mix up with low/high combinations of punch/kick. Hope you can use!

There are ways to hold Thai pads when you don't have a belly pad. That is not a valid way.... Phone Post

I was just sharing what some of the trainers were using at INSEP in Paris (the national training center) some years ago to train Savateurs (specifically world champion trainers like Richard Sylla).

No, they don't use the belly pad because they are not training the Teep but just a Chasse Frontal in the one I'm showing here. The trainer moves around a lot more more in the Boxe Francaise ring that in usual Muay Thai (I have trained at both Muay Thai and Savate camps).

Most of the trainers there coach each others fighters across disciplines as well (Muay Thai, Savate, KICK, Boxing).

Just sharing.
