Forrest Griffin: $275,000 (includes $150,000 win bonus) + $75,000 performance bonus = $350,000
Tito Ortiz: $250,000 + $75,000 performance bonus = $325,000

Cung Le: $150,000 (no win bonus)
Patrick Cote: $21,000

Demian Maia: $96,000 (includes $48,000 win bonus)

Rafaello Oliveira: $20,000 (includes $10,000 win bonus)

The total disclosed payroll for the event was $1,438,000.

The figures do not represent an accurate assessment of each fighter's income.

Fighters bear significant costs including training expenses, a percentage to management, a percentage to the trainer, insurance, licenses, and taxes.

On the income side, sponsorship money can be a substantial portion, or even exceed the purse from the fight. Further, the UFC often gives out undisclosed "locker room" bonuses for exceptional performance.

Elite level fighters like Anderson Silva can negotiate a portion of the PPV revenue, which can substantially exceed the disclosed payout.

Lastly, many fighters earn income from teaching, from appearances, and in many cases from regular employment in the non fighting space.

The publicly announced "of the Night" bonuses are, in fact, reflected above.

Lol they probably just copied and pasted that section from a previous article where they didn't list them. Lazy reporting.

Ughh I think UG Blog added the "performance" stuff as it doesn't appear in the MMA Junkie article. My apologies to MMA Junkie for being tricked by UG Blog who doesn't bother reading the entire article and makes them look silly by adding bonuses which contradicts the bottom half of the orignal article.

KingofBJJ - I fail to see how Silva, who has the best record in UFC history, still makes the same or less than guys like Tito, Griffin, Liddell etc.?
You really think Anderson makes 200k?

Were you born within the last 10 years or something?

The guy could go fight for any other organization and pull Brock Lesnars 500K a fight, but stays at the UFC for chump change. When he retires what is he going to have? Will the UFC give him a Executive position in the company? Hell no. There are no blacks in their Offices.

Have you seen one?

Now Lombardo is coming over here to fight? Yea you get your name in bright lights, but that is all. The real money is elsewhere.

Yeah Anderson is buying 1.76 million dollar mansions on a non-guaranteed 200k salary.

Reality TV Star - Has Dana ever alluded that these "elite" fighters get part of the PPV?

Zuffa doesn't allow anyone to get part of anything, they turned down a deal with HBO because they wanted to control all the production.

LMAO thinking these fighters get a percentage.

They get some chicken feed under the table money and maybe some random sponsorship

No they aren't

Yes they are.

Look at this thread.
http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/mma.cfm?go=forum.posts&thread=2024795

"Anderson Silva: flat $200,000 win or lose"

$275,000 because of a "performance bonus"
"Tito Ortiz: flat $250,000 in his retirement fight win or lose.
Forrest Griffin: $125,000 to show, $150,000 to win."

They too are listed as getting a performance bonus to bring their totals up by 75k.

Are you retarded? Have you ever seen Burt Watson? You really don't think there are any African Americans employed by the UFC? Have you been to there office?

Silva's PPV cut probably dwarfs his disclosed pay so much that he sometimes even forgets to cash that check. His maid finds it lodged between the couch seats a couple of months later...

how did tito/forest get fight of the night? they were so shitty they made ufc look bad knowing these were both former champs. both of their styles look so unpolished considering how experienced they are. i think they should have probably hooked up mendes with a 2nd knockout bonus. that shit was nasty.

How is Forrest making more money barely pulling out decision wins over retiring fighters than the champion who hasn't lost in the UFC?

Wow. Floydd Mayweather's cook, or boy in charge of the water bucket make more money than the main events. Think what his trainers make. That is because Money makes 70 million a pop. I'm not kidding, that is the kind of money top tier boxers make. On one fight Floydd could have bought Pride fighting twice almost. Why not box if you're going to fight ?
