Saturday, I'm focused on this fight," Lombard told MMAjunkie.com after a workout session in Calgary. "And after that, I'm going to call Mark Munoz out. I'm focused on the fight, but I'm going to call out Mark Munoz after. That's my goal.

"I'm going to make a statement no matter what. But after that, I'm going to beat up Mark Munoz."

Lombard said Munoz, who a week ago suffered a brutal knockout loss at the hands of Chris Weidman at UFC on FUEL TV 4, has been running his mouth about him. And that, Lombard said, has rubbed him the wrong way.

"He's been talking a lot of trash about me," said Lombard, the former Bellator middleweight champ. "I'm one of those fighters that I don't like to talk about any fighter. I'm focused on myself. When I see people that do the wrong things, I have to do something about it."

Lombard, of course, realizes he's got Boetsch standing in front of him on Saturday in the co-main event. And with a 25-fight unbeaten streak coming in, with his last loss coming nearly six years ago, and the pressure of being the most prominent Bellator fighter to sign with the UFC, Lombard knows he must first win in Calgary before he can officially let Munoz know he wants to dance.

But if he beats Boetsch, and beats him impressively – he's more than a 3-to-1 favorite – would he really turn down a title shot against Silva?

"One hundred percent. You got it," he told MMAjunkie.com. "I don't want to talk about it. I don't want to talk about him. I just want to fight him. I want to fight him bad."

he gained some respect in my book not calling out anderson like weidman is.

let them win over the ufc crowd before getting a title shot.

Munoz talked $h1t, when he should have been worrying about his own fight- came back to bite him in the A$$.

Karma

He was worried about Lombard not having to work for a title shot, well, hes the 1 whos laughing now.
He wants to whoop him for being like that, I dont blame him.

Ive never been excited for a Munoz fight before, to see Lombard put it on him- id be excited for that.

Manny Yarbrough GOAT - Wonder what the Anderson haters will say, will they say Lombard is ducking Anderson? they can't because Anderson is the one who QUACKS, right?
Please buddy... Calling out Luke? Ridiculous, and you can't defend it.

Is Lombard ducking? I think "ducking" refers more to a fighter avoiding a challenger from below. Lombard is just using his head. Plenty of fighters acknowledge that they're not ready to fight at the very top. I wouldn't say they're ducking. He's asking for Munoz, and that's smart. It's an appropriate fight to get a better picture where he's at in the rankings. If he were the champ right now, and calling for Luke, instead of Anderson, I'd say he was ducking.

Pretty silly to call out the guy who just got smashed.

He should be calling out Weidman, Bisping or Belcher to get in the title hunt. Grudges are for small minded people with no ambition.

What he needs to be doing, is thinking about Tim. Talk about looking through an opponent. That could turn out to be a huge mistake. Boetsch could wreck him.

he's not fighting munoz unless he loses...

some exciting contenders coming up at mw though... weidman, belcher, lombard (if he beats boetsch)... you almost dont wanna match each of them against each other so they could each fight anderson.

^This. Lombard hasn't even had a fucking fight in the UFC yet and is already coming off very clownish.

I didn't care who won this fight before. Now I hope Boetsch wrecks him.

He's been recycling cans. Someone had to say it but to call out a guy coming off a brutal late stoppage KO is really dumb. Lombard is Tyson crazy

Yea, it makes a lot of sense to turn down a title shot to "whoop" a guy because he talked shit and hurt your feelings and take the chance that you break something or tear something whooping this loudmouth and end up sitting out for the next year and watching your guaranteed title shot possibly go down the drain and never happen again.

And while you're sitting around for a year wondering why you weren't smart enough to strike while the iron is hot you can at least feel satisifed that you shut that fool up.

Lmfao.

Personal issues sell more fight tickets.

Unless Shamrock-Ortiz II and III was for the title.

Unless Lesnar-Mir III would be for a belt.

People weren't buying Sonnen-Silva 2 because it was a title fight.

They were emotionally invested.

Personal issues sell.

Go away with this nonsense of guys should only be fighting for and trying to get the title.

Let me know if Notre Dame-USC sells more football tickets than Boise State-Oklahoma.

Personal. Issues.

I'd PREFER Lombard in the title mix because Munoz won't be cleared for months but I'd rather care about Munoz-Lombard than be faced with Boetsch-Lombard or Weidman-Munoz where nobody was giving a damn if they got to see either fight. Phone Post

Oh yea, the whole world is demanding Lombard/Munoz.

A grudge match for the ages!

Did you really just compare Lombard/Munoz to Shamrock Ortiz? Lesnar/Mir? Silva/Sonnen?

Lmfao. Holy shit! There's no way that just happened!

I'll let you go edit all of that fucking nonsense out and we'll just pretend like it never happened......

Well, there are people who like matchmaking that creates the best WWE drama and people who like matchmaking that creates the best fights.

Obviously, you're the former.....

not sure why guys are upset with Lombard calling out Munoz. He felt disrespected and wants to set things right. calling out guys like Bisping would be fake, he's not like that.

I'm sure there's so much you could teach this world class judoka/ ATT BJJ blackbelt, highly successful MMA fighter about having a "strong mind".

Right.

There are alot of stories about Lombar. Judging from his feuds with Barnette and what Paulson described about him, weak minded might not be far from the truth.

I like Lombar, and I"m no fighter so please don't use the hackneyed, well ur even weaker minded so that invalidates ur point, like that jackass Skarhead.

I'm not trying to brag or say I"m better, but I agree stories of his in training camp life sounds like he's very insecure and a bully style fighter who gets very frustrated from eating hard shots or grapplefucked. He's a gold judoka but I'm really curious to see how he handles himself if he starts getting ragdolled, not sure he's the best fighter to keep composure and adjust game
