I know everyone is impressed buy the mitt work Roger and Floyd do, because it is impressive, but Roger learned it, from the best mitt man on the planet a trainer named
Bubba Stotts... Just a random fact that I wanted.to share. Phone Post

What's interesting is that he's just touching the mitts.  For the longest time I always thought mitt work had to be brutal and powerful.

Could someone explain what makes his mitt work impressively complex beyong the obvious speed for those who are not trained boxers?

Also - is the mitt routine the same sequence every time? Or is it spontaneous? It's seems like a trained, repetitive routine, no?

I've never really been impressed with that style of pad work beyond their "sync".  Roger does most of the work.

he's doing more then just hitting pads...he's sitting in the pocket, calling out punches...working his hand eye coordination, timing, accuracy and speed...

I just wanted to give credit to Stotts a guy.from Memphis that for a long time was brought into training camps just to hold mitts, to Rogers credit, he retained what he learned and passed it onto Floyd, what's strange is he never worked the mitts with Vernon Forrest like that when Roger trained him Phone Post
