The Swedish light heavyweight fighter, Alexander Gustafsson, says in a exclusive interview with the Swedish MMA website Kimura.se that he´s looking forward to fight the Brazilian fighter Mauricio "Shogun" Rua at the UFC on FOX 5 event. He tells Kimura.se that he has a lot off respect Shoguns fighting style and admires his heart, but he thinks he´s gonna knock Shogun out in the second round.

The entire interview (it´s a video interview) will be realesed tomorrow, and in the interview Alex´s head coach Andreas Michael says that he believes Alex either gonna finish Shogun or give him the beating of his life.

Doubtful. Lyoto KTFO of Thiago with one punch in the first round, Gustaf couldn't do it in 15 minutes. And no one has ever KO'd Shogun.

If Gustaffson wins it's gonna be by decision.

I'm a huge fan of the Mauler but the way I see it is that if Shogun can take multiple H-Bombs and keep coming back for more then it will take something of galactic magnitude to put him to sleep.

Gustaffson by Decision. I don't think Shogun will win this one. Phone Post

Come on dude... You've been around here long enough to know that MMA math doesn't work like that

Although this will be a tough fight for shogun, you couldn't ask for a better matchup if he has his eyes on jones. Shogun will bring his blueprint for jones to this fight, should be a war. Expecting a shogun vs machida ii result. Phone Post

I could see the Mauler getting a stoppage with Shogun being gassed out but outright TKOing Shogun seems a little farfetched.

But then again, maybe Shogun has been in enough wars that his chin might crack sometime.

Shogun lands on everybody (except jones)
its gonna be up to Gus to show that he can take it rather than vice versus.

Yeah, I know Shogun is on the tail-end of his career and Gustaf is on the rise but I have a feeling that Shogun turns this into a brawl. Alex's chin will be checked. Shogun 29-28 or early TKO.

Shogun wins by having a way better groundgame. Gus still has a lot of holes on the ground...

Shoguns chin is amongst the greatest in mma history. Even when when he could barely stand vs Hendo he still wasnt ko'd. The thing too is that Shogun probably has the biggest ko power at lhw. Anyone he connects on is getting hurt. I think Gustaf will have the better cardio but not enough tools to finish. Shogun via stoppage

This matchup is horrible for Shogun, don't see how this is an easy win at all.
