 Don't blame Greg Jackson.

Jon Jones is a man and makes his own decisions.

Jones' coach Greg Jackson told Jon Jones to NOT accept the fight. Jackson reportedly told Jones it would be biggest mistake of career. Phone Post

Why would this be the biggest mistake of his career? He'd have an easier time with Chael than Hendo.

A little harsh on Danas behalf BUT..

As a champion you have to bite the bullet sometimes. He was ready to fight, he was gonna face a 185er and someone who was not ready. Jones was selfish in turning down the fight. IF he lost, the UFC would have given an immediate rematch with a proper training camp.

Jones just made a huge mistake.

The understory is that this card was so thin it couldnt stand on its own as a shitty card. UFC, WE ALL TOLD YOU SO.

That slimebag Greg Jackson is the worst thing to ever happen to the sport of MMA. He is our Don King.

I see Jones beating Sonnen, even on eight days notice, but really this comes down to the cancellation of a PPV-worthy main event. There is insurance for promoters, so the UFC should be able to recoup many of their expenses.

As for fighters losing, it's never really good because it sets them back in terms of leverage, drawing power, and just their confidence.

Once you start making compromises, the fallout never really ends.

What about people that took days off work, bought plane tickets and ordered hotel rooms to see the show? Will they be refunded?

Hansumboy, that's a good question. It depends on the airline or hotel policy. Many hotels will not charge credit cards if cancellation is issued in time. Airline tickets can be changed, usually for a fee, but are often bought nonrefundable.

I hear what you're saying, as the price of tickets to sports in general is really high, and its the average person who gets squeezed.

Now about Don King, you understand what King was a promoter, and Greg Jackson is just a trainer, right? Greg's first duty is to look out for his fighters.

Jones is an adult and is perfectly capable of rejecting bad advice from his coach. He's selfish AND a bad businessman IMO.

I love the way that a 43 year old megalomaniac with the impulse control of a 5 year old (Dana) would attack a guy with an IQ 40 points higher than his own and recommend that that individual should see a psychiatrist all for simply acting in the best interest of his fighter and not cowering down to the will of the mighty Dana.

Well, Greg Jackson's philosophy has always been to just win, baby by not fighting.

Jones took the not fighting part literally....
