I noticed before the patent verdict came out in favor of apple, the stock had increased for several days straight.

Do you think the price increase was due to anticipation of the verdict? Do you think that people had inside information about how the court would rule?

Another question I have is, to what extent do you believe that by the time a stock is mentioned positively on a market watch show that the value of the good news had already been factored into the stock price by insiders and others already buying the stock.

I increasingly believe this to be the case, that stock recommendations are mostly bogus (the ones that aren't bogus are random luck), and in general analysts want to sell their position so they start recommending the stock so they can unload.

I look forward to being enlightened/insulted.
