Here you can watch all three of Peter Sobotta's fights (they start at the 2:45 mark) and hear special guest star Dean Lister cornering his protégé:

Oh, almost forgot, Germany's no. 2 light heavyweight Hendrik Oschmann got his ass handed to him at yesterday's Bushido FC HERO*s in Latvia against Lithuanian judoka Teodoras Aukstuolis.

This weekend two Germans are going to fight outside their home country.

Jonas Billstein (10-2), Germany's no. 3 middleweight, is going to face MFS product Perry Filkins (6-1) at Bellator 81 on Friday. Should be an easy victory for Billstein which is going to put him in next year's middleweight tournament.

Dima Goette (3-0), Germany's no. 3 bantamweight (would fight at flyweight if there were any opponents for him) and one of UFC vet Peter Sobotta's top students, is going to face Finnish kickboxer Harri Maatta at Cage 20 in Finland on Saturday. Maatta might have the advantage standing up, but Goette is quick, dynamic and has a great ground game, similar to his coach.

Today Jonas Billstein said that he signed a six fight contract with Bellator FC. Not a very smart move on his part, considering the UFC is going to return to Germany in 2013 and without the Bellator contract he would've had the chance to get signed by them. Maybe he didn't have enough confidence in himself to be able to get signed by the UFC, I don't know.

So Dennis Siver, Germany's pound-for-pound no. 1 fighter, is going to face TUF vet Nam Phan at UFC on Fox 5 on December 8th. Phan is replacing Eddie Yagin (get well soon!).

Awesome news: German MMA Championship is coming back - this time with a CAGE! GMC did two absolutely great events in 2010 but then the promoters decided to take a break in order to focus on other stuff. On February 16th, 2013 there's going to be a huge comeback show.

ProElite and Cage Warriors veteran Andreas Kraniotakes, Germany's no. 1 heavyweight, is set to fight Bjorn Schmiedeberg, Germany's no. 2 heavyweight. This is going to be a title fight.

They fought before at Respect.FC 4 in September 2010. Schmiedeberg won by unanimous, but controversial decision. Kraniotakes is in San Diego right now, preparing to get his revenge. And I'm 99% sure that he'll get it.

Well, that didn't go according to plan. At Bellator 81 Jonas Billstein got decisioned by Perry Filkins and is now 1-3 in his last four fights. His game plan was stupid, he tried to stand and bang even though he is a much better grappler than striker. I think he will spend 2013 in the Bellator prelims.

Yes disappointing loss to Billstein. Has he trained in the US recently?

Yes, he has spent the last few weeks in San Diego, alongside his German compatriots Ruben Crawford and Andreas Kraniotakes. He has trained at Alliance MMA last year, but I don't know if he trained there this year also.

Well, the second mission abroad this weekend didn't go according to plan either. Dimitri Goette (3-1) lost to local hero Harri Maatta by unanimous decision. First fight in the cage, first fight outside of Germany, the whole arena against him - a lot to cope for a 20-year-old. He didn't fight like he usually fights, probably "octagon jitters".

Some German MMA fighters wanted to promote a charity MMA event for a program of the local Caritas Internationalis (Roman catholic social service organisation) group. They wanted to raise money for children whose parents are drug addicts so that they can get christmas gifts. Now the German "head group" threatened them with a lawsuit because they don't want anything to do with "blood fights"... sometimes I despise this country.

Funny video found on Middle Easy about Jonas Billstein's takedown attempts against Perry Felkins at Bellator 81. Sad thing is, he actually trains at a big German wrestling club (first division).

Yesterday Superior FC, one of Germany's bigger organizations, held their last event in 2012 in Mainz.

Martin Buschkamp, a 21-year-old featherweight prospect, improved his perfect record to 6-0 by submitting experienced Czech allrounder Filip Macek with his trademark RNC after two minutes. He's now 6-0 with 6 RNC victories in round 1 and is currently ranked no. 3 in Germany. Expect big things from the Peter Sobotta student in 2013.

Jessin Ayari (9-2), Germany's no. 7 welterweight, captured the Superior FC welterweight title by submitting tough boxer Kerim Engizek with a RNC in round 2.

Unbeaten Azdren Thaqi (5-0-1), one of Switzerland's most promising prospects, won the vacant Superior FC featherweight title by submitting Marcel Jedidi with a Guillotine Choke.

Unbeaten Stephan Puetz (4-0), Germany's no. 4 light heavyweight, beat local hero Nils Wernersbach by TKO in round 4 in a match for the vacant Superior FC light heavyweight belt. It was a pretty boring affair with lots of clinching aka Wall'n'Stall.

---

In East Germany, 19-year-old featherweight Konstantin Goette, another top student of UFC vet Peter Sobotta, built his pro MMA record to 3-0 (6-0 as an amateur) by submitting a local hero with a RNC after 55 seconds.

You're welcome!

I just read great news: Judo black belt Andreas Bernhard (7-2) is going to make his comeback on December 16th at Battle of Moscow 9 in Russia.

Bernhard is set to face Combat Sambo world champion Ali Bagautinov (8-2), a Russian, who's currently ranked no. 4 in Europe at flyweight.

This marks the first time in his career that 5'1'' Bernhard, a former Cage Warriors bantamweight title contender, is fighting in his natural weight class.

The dude is one inch taller than a midget but fought at lightweight and featherweight for a great portion of his career! I'm pretty excited to see what he can do as a flyweight.

German UFC fighter Pascal Krauss (10-1) is set to return to action on January 26th at UFC on FOX 6 in Chicago, Illinois against Illinois native Mike Stumpf (11-3).

Krauss has moved to the US this month, where he's going to be able to train full-time for the first time in his MMA career. I don't know exactly where he's going to live, but I do know that he's going to train at Roufusport.

Krauss is much more well-rounded than Stumpf. No disrespect, but I don't think the UFC could've given him an easier opponent. If he doesn't beat him, it doesn't bode well for his UFC career.

Here is a short video interview by GnP-TV (GroundandPound.de's online TV show) with successful German UFC fighter Dennis Siver, who's fighting TUF vet Nam Phan at UFC on FOX 5 on December 8th. The interview is in German but it has Engrish subtitles.

Strikeforce signed Austrian heavyweight Nandor Guelmino (11-3-1) for their January 13th event as the opponent for Josh Barnett! Guelmino just won the World Freefight Challenge's heavyweight title. His last loss was to Germany's no. 1 heavyweight Andreas Kraniotakes, at WFC in December 2009. Since then Guelmino has won seven in a row. He's a standup fighter (TKD black belt, K-1 experience) and his ground game has improved a lot. Nevertheless I think Barnett is going to crush him.
