I've seen all of Pascal's fights, and that was the best he's looked since he started fighting. You did a great job with him, Duke!

Kombat Komplett 8 started Germany's MMA season 2013 with a nice event in Baumholder, where the biggest US Army base outside of the US is located at. Muay Thai specialist Abu Azaitar, Germany's no. 2 middleweight, won the vacant KK middleweight title with a quick TKO win over previously unbeaten BJJ player Roman Kapranov. His next fight will be in Poland at KSW 22 against Piotr Strus. Stephan Puetz, the current Superior FC light heavyweight champion, won the vacant KK light heavyweight title with a unanimous decision victory against King of the Cage veteran Jerry Nelson.

Nice little interview (has English subtitles!) with German UFC fighter Dennis Siver. He talks about his recent injury, his comeback plans and more.

Brace yourselves, German MMA Championship is coming back. The main event on February 16th is the most anticipated rematch in German MMA history, between Germany's no. 1 Andreas Kraniotakes and Germany's no. 2 Bjoern Schmiedeberg.

Undefeated RNC specialist Martin Buschkamp, Germany's Best Young Fighter 2011 and 2012, is fighting Switzerland's Patrick Berisha for the vacant featherweight title.

Jessin Ayari and undefeated Abus Magomedov, two of Germany's most promising welterweight talents, are fighting for the vacant weltweight title.

Also on the card are former KSW tournament finalist Ruben Crawford and Robert Drysdale brown belt Marcin Bandel from Poland.

Instead of my usual summary in Engrish, you can read about the German MMA Championship fights on Sherdog: http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Controversy-Mars-Two-Title-Bouts-at-German-MMA-Championship-3-50179

I couldn't attend the event, but from what I heard and read, it was a great event despite the controversy surrounding the bad officiating by the referees and judges.

Germany's no. 1 fighter Dennis Siver said that he expects to return in May. He is already back to light training and hopes to be able to complete a full workout in about 2-3 weeks. He would like to fight either Cub Swanson or Ricardo Lamas. Lamas is already booked for a fight in May, so maybe Siver is going to be his opponent?

Superior FC middleweight champion Andreas Birgels just won a four men welterweight tournament at a small event in Northern Germany in order to become the new NCFC welterweight champion. He got submitted quickly by Marcin Bandel at GMC 3 and today he won his fights by submission. So you can picture the level of competition in that tournament.

Today "Welt", one of Germany's bigger conservative newspapers, published a horrible article about Ronda Rousey and her win at UFC 157 on its website. It calls MMA a "wild barroom brawl" and centers on Rousey being a retarded child who became a successful athlete. Lots of lies and false statements in that article. German MMA fans are furious.

You're preaching to the choir here. Lots of old and conservative douchebags in the media (TV as well as newspapers etc.) and politics who get sexually aroused when they can create scandals and pillory something which doesn't have a big lobby. MMA is an easy target for everyone who wants to distinguish himself as someone who is protecting our sophisticated society from barbaric evils.

But a question for all of you guys whose countries have adopted MMA as a real sport. What could we, as German MMA fans, do in order to make our great sport more popular and universally accepted? Create a website explaining the sport and the rules so that everybody understands what MMA is all about? Invite critical politicians and journalists to one of our better national events?

Lamas vs Siver would be great, Siver would take it IMO.Better striking and more experienced. Phone Post

Austria's Philipp Schranz and Germany's Sascha Sharma are going to debut in India's Super Fight League in spring. Sharma has Indian roots as you can see by his surname.

Undefeated German middleweight Benjamin Brinsa (12-0) is going to face UFC veteran Dan Stittgen (7-3) at la familia Fight Night IV in Halle on May 11th. Outside of the two UFC events, Stittgen is the first UFC veteran to fight in Germany since Shonie Carter in 2002!

Great European welterweight fight has been announced today: German UFC veteran Peter Sobotta (13-4-1, ranked no. 2 in Germany) vs. Denmark's Nicolas Dalby (10-0, ranked top ten in Scandinavia) at MMA Attack 3 in Kattowice, Poland on April 27th.

Sobotta is 5-0-1 since he left the UFC in 2010. The Dean Lister BJJ brown belt won all fights by rear naked choke in the first round. In November he won an eight men tournament in one night.
