Even if you are not religious, it's amazing to hear him talk about his journey through hard times. His HOF speech was really good too.

I remember he wrestled Shane Douglas in the early ECW; wouldnt other indy promotions have wanted a former Horseman?

I was a youth minister and had Tully come speak to a crowd of about 300 teens in 2004 and he was awesome. I was amazed at how short he was. Wonderful man.

Flair is actually only about 5'10", and he has maybe 2" on Tully and is definitely taller than Arn.

On a side note, tito santana said in the beginning of his book that Tully was the quarterback of their college team in Texas. 2 other future pro wrestlers were also teammates, I forget who.

Ted Dibiase, Tully Blanchard and Tito Santana all played for West Texas state on the same team. If I'm not mistaken I think Bobby Duncum was on the same team, so that would be the four.

Other notable West Texas State players include Dusty Rhodes, Barry Windham, Bruiser Brody, Terry Funk and Stan Hansen.

Tully is the reason I got into pro wrestling as a kid. His taped fist matches with ronnie Garvin. I saw one where he cheated to win and I went right downstairs to tell my mom. lol
