Both. However you can get in the oxygen. If you can breathe through your nose only, you're running way too easily.

I always try to start through my nose but i gradually run faster until I am unable to breath through just my nose. Phone Post

sounds weird but my girlfriend (runner) taught me how to do it

once you get the hang of it it is the best way

This for me.. I'm one of those people that's congested 24/fucking7 and after running for only a few minutes I have to breathe through my mouth...

I usually follow a 3-4 count when breathing depending on my pace Phone Post

When I was first getting into running and endurance/triathlon races I did not know this. Then, at a Spartan Beast race, a competitor saw me attempting to breathe in only through my nose and said "open your mouth and dont' think about it and just breathe in, see the difference?".
