Its all about the win now. Fighters don't want to take fights they don't think they can win easily.

And its kind of the UFCs fault I think. The fighters are scared to lose because they will be fired.

Back in the Pride days it was all about performance. Win or lose, if you out on a good show and came to fight you had a job for life.

They are simply scared to lose now. Its a shame.

There are plenty of fighters that will take any fight though. The Cowboy comes to mind. I think if Dana called and offered him a fight he would take it. No matter who. Phone Post

What is happening? Why do fans think that guys should all be willing to fight on three weeks' notice? I've done it plenty of times, but sometimes it doesn't work out. Rashad said he wasn't training, so he wouldn't be ready to fight in three weeks. Why should taking fight on short notice be something a guy is expected to do rather than something he is thanked for doing?Taking short notice fights used to be seen as going above and beyond. Now you have guys calling fighters pussies for being smart and looking at the long term.

Brigham, you usually have good points. This isn't one of them.

Glover is one of the riskiest fights a well established 205'er can take. Glover is not very well known to the casual/average fan and he has a very good chance of knocking you out and taking your spot on the ladder.

Fighting Glover on three weeks notice, no camp, and you haven't been training?

Hell noooooo. I would've passed too. Phone Post

Do you honestly believe fear is the thing that kept Rashad from taking the fight rather than the lack of a training camp?

Of course its fear-based. Seems like an odd question after your earlier post.

Anyone who thinks that Rashad is scared of another fighter is out of their mind. Rashad has always fought the top of the food chain.

Rashad does not have ample time to train for Glover.

What kind of idiot who takes his career seriously would take the Glover fight if you're pudgy and don't have time for a proper training camp ?

All the sheeple don't fucking get it.

Zuffa ABUSES its fighters. You don't want to fight one of the most dangerous guys on earth on 3 week's notice?

You're a pussy.

You handily defeated Rampage, Machida, Bader, Shogun and Rashad in a 14 month period but you don't want to fight a 185lbs. guy on short notice?

You're a pussy.

Lorenzo and Dana don't give a shit if you help them out in a pinch. Shogun put on one of the greatest fights ever for them and 3 months later Dana and Lorenzo were both personally calling him not old school and a coward to every media outlet they could find.

SO fighters don't want to fight hurt. They don't want to take short notice fights. They don't want to fight with abandon in the cage.

This surprises you fucking dopes???????

The ufc can cut you if you lose. Not wanting to lose your spot in the rankings on a risky fight. Wins and loses seem to be more stressed than they were in pride. Also on the internet which is full of retards any fighter that loses a fight is a fraud and has been "exposed" so that may have something to do with it.

There are generally far more risks than benefits to taking a tough fight on sort notice.

lol..you blaming the fighters? Who sets the policy of "if you lose you can be cut"?

And seeing as how the UFC has a monopoly on the top level of the sport where can a fighter go? He can go to a lower league and take a huge paycut Phone Post

Very true, Dana is such an emotional person you never know what he might do. He has a few problem fighters that really do pick and choose their opponents and want to do whatever they want but they are the same fighters that Dana has rode their jock to the point where they can get away with it. If you aren't one of those chosen few then you are fair game when it comes to being cut or put off main cards.

Lol@ the thought that somehow Zuffa can run a business and make "business" decisions, and thats ok, but if a fighter chooses to protect his brand it is somehow different.

Rashad wasn't training apparently and he takes shit for turning down a fight on three weeks notice? I'm no Rashad fan.....but I have zero issue with him making his kind of decision. Phone Post

Zuffa is the President, and Evans is employeed by the UFC. Evans has no brand without the UFC.

Apparently he does have a brand to protect and they did give him a choice. No issues with it from my end. Phone Post

I did not say he did not have a brand, but without the UFC what would his brand be? Nada or very little.
