I just finished (in order of favorite to least favorite) one second after, day to day Armageddon, and collision course.

All were enjoyable but OSA seemed top notch and probably the most likely. Phone Post

Just read "lights out", I thought it was pretty good but the dialogue seemed pretty elementary imo. Also, I found some of the items they were able to procure a bit unrealistic (yes I realize it's a book about the end of the world). They just happened to find everything they were looking for a chapter or so after they mentioned it, no matter what it was. Phone Post

Ex-Heroes. Kind of cool book. Super heroes vs zombies.

Patriots. Interesting read, but significantly less entertaining. Idaho militias somehow managing to defeat NATO.

I do like a Canticle for Leibowitz, the first part especially. Gets very heavy handed in the later two parts.

Probably my favourite is Riddley Walker. It's hard to get into without a guide to the slang and the dialogue is difficult to parse. But it's great, nothing I've read comes closes in terms of crafting a society blown back into the middle ages and then left to evolve a new mythology over time.

Too much post post-apocalyptic fiction is just comic-book grade shite about zombies or mutants.

Yeah can't wait for the new Day By Day Armegedon book.

"Lights Out" was ok, not spectacular.

In the process of reading the Joe McKinnley zombie series (on book 2 of 3 now). Not bad so far.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but I Am Legend kick started the whole craze and still stands up to the best of them.

Mr Mister - Anyone read the Hater series by David Moody? Second is Dog Blood that I'm currently reading and he's just released a third.

Well worth the read if you're into outbreaks and survival. Phone Post

The Stand is one of my favorites.

If we are mentioning Stephen King though then The Mist deserves mention.  It's a short story in book form but it's pretty awesome.

In.

I have a Barnes and Noble gift card, would love a book on the post apocolypse. Not really a zombie book, more of like nuclear attack/disease/meteor/wahtever, society will never be the same, last people on earth, survival type reading would be cool.

I read shattered hourglass in a day, couldn't put it down. Had to find something else right away. Found something...

If you like day by day armageddon then check out "The Remaining" series by D.J. Molle. Phone Post

Yep "The Remaining" and "Aftermath" are pretty damn good. I liked the concept. Can't wait for the third book.
