After speaking with backstage WWE sources, WZ has learned more details behind the controversy surrounding the outcome of Sunday's WWE Championship match between CM Punk and Ryback. We're told the top WWE decision makers are split down the middle on whether Ryback should leave Atlanta with the WWE title. It seems Triple H is of the opinion, and there are others who agree with him, that CM Punk should not lose the title. Vince McMahon, on the other hand, is leading a group of people who feel a shocking Ryback win for the title is the best decision. There is concern from those who are in favor of CM Punk retaining that a Ryback title win might not go over well in the locker room. While sources didn't suggest Ryback is disliked, many respect CM Punk for all the hard work he's put in. It seems there are those who feel a Ryback win would serve as an immediate shock and a huge boost to his push--but ultimately would be a bad decision for future business. After asking several sources their gut feeling on who would walk out with the title, they all said they feel by the final hour, the decision will be to go with CM Punk. However, one quickly added that with Vince being a big fan of Ryback, it wouldn't surprise them if he ignored other concerns and went with the young star.

I have a feeling all that is being leaked just to make people really think that Ryback might win and people will buy the ppv just to see.

I would be shocked if they put the belt on him right now

The hhh beats Shamus at the rumble to unify the belts. Ut hobbles to the ring as 30th entrant barely pushes the final guy out to win. The hhh squashes Ut at Mania to end the streak. Hhh never gets beat again. I'm sure Trips has pitched this. Phone Post

It's being reported by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE officials had a tough time deciding who would win the WWE Championship match at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view between C.M. Punk and Ryback. The word going around right now is that WWE officials at one point had Ryback scheduled to go over clean on C.M. Punk and win the WWE Championship. Those plans, however, were obviously scrapped. WWE officials also considered having interference from Brock Lesnar, Mark Henry, The Big Show, or possibly even WWE Chairman & CEO Mr. Vince McMahon. It's also being reported that McMahon in particular had a tough time deciding who he wanted to win the match. McMahon's original idea was for Ryback to win the Title and keep it until the Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view in some sort of match that would have had more than two participants, which would allow Ryback to never lose by pinfall or submission. It was finally decided however that Punk's lengthy WWE Title reign would be better for business, as he is currently one of the top acts in the company as a heel Champion. No word on when C.M. Punk might finally drop the WWE Championship.
