Based on his comments during his recent MetroPCS online chat with fans, White seems to have indeed done just that, revealing that he has had recent discussions with Emelianenko (or at least someone close to his inner circle), who once again rebuffed White's advance. He didn't go into much detail, but did say that he made the effort and Fedor is (still) disinterested in fighting under the UFC umbrella.

Don't expect that to change anytime soon, either: Fedor was able to salvage what was left of his MMA career, capping it off on a three-fight win streak after losing a trio of bouts that sent his stock, and possibly his legacy, crashing through the floor. He doesn't appear to be the money-hungry type to come out of retirement just so White can tell everyone, "I told you so."

Sadly, it was never possible.

He needs to just come in, two or three fight deal with whatever money the UFC offered, win those fights, and he will have the biggest hype train behind him. Then he could get that Anderson Silva money but doubled. If it's even about money. I guess it makes sense if he just doesn't have that drive for fighting anymore. Phone Post

Not surprising consider the lovely treatment UFC fighters are getting lately.

Sucks, but the dream is dead.

Sad to hear . I hope for the sake of the sport we love that DFW put in a solid effort and tried to actually reach out to Fedor. Phone Post

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if that has a lot to do with it. If I were Fedor, I wouldn't have much interest in coming out of retirement to be employed by a disrespectful mouthpiece like Dana White.

Who's Top 15? Yours?

"Top 15" doesn't objectively exist in any way, nor has it ever. It's purely opinion.

To suggest Fedor didn't beat any significant fighters is just telling everyone you weren't watching MMA before PRIDE folded.

Also, Fedor's record should be evaluated by where he was fighting. Under "Unified rules", along with the earlier stoppage policy, he could have lost some of his PRIDE fights.

Big Foot & Henderson, OTOH, may not have come away with victories under a PRIDE rule setup/"let-them-fight-until-they-nearly-die" approach.

Even records aren't the objective measures of quality many fans like to pretend they are.

IMO, nobody who experienced Fedor's run while it was happening doubts his greatness as a fighter.

Fedor is the man. You cannot argue that he is one of the goats!! And before you all say anderson anderson anderson remember this. Fedor lost to weirdum, bigfoot, and dan henderson. All pretty elite guys. I love anderson, but ryo chonan is all I got to say.... Fedor never lost to a ryo chonan guy.... Not dissing anderson at all. Just sayin.

This will one of the the biggest "what ifs" in MMA for some time to come.  Fedor really should have fought in the UFC once Pride was done.  Virtually all the other top heavies did/do and as a result we got/will get to see many dream matches.  Fedor being up against guys like Cain, Brock, JDS, Reem, etc. would have been an MMA fan's dream.  What a shame.
