Well, we got Alvarado vs. Rios II....Golovkin vs Ishida is a mismatch which shouldn't last long.

That was a great fight yesterday. Bradley's Achilles Heel is his average punching power.

Just ran across this video on another forum. While I don't think that Bradley won that fight, it wasn't nearly the blow out that the HBO crew made it out to be. This video does a good job of exposing the issues that a lot of hardcore boxing fans have had with HBO commentary and the Compubox stats for years.

@stevemaxboxing: So yeah, they are out of the Broner business, along with everyone else under that banner at Golden Boy.... #boxing

@stevemaxboxing: So look for Broner-Malignaggi to end up on Showtime, I guess. Wow, I didn't think HBO would go THAT far..... #boxing

@stevemaxboxing: And for the most part, HBO has made a decision to get out of the Haymon Boxing Organization, which for fans, is great, IMO #boxing

@stevemaxboxing: But there's a clear gap( that's bigger than ever) between SHO/HBO and Golden Boy/Top Rank, Im pretty sure that aint good #boxing Phone Post

@stevemaxboxing: "In order to achieve this goal we've decided to focus our efforts and resources on those strategic relationships...." Ken Hershman of HBO

@stevemaxboxing: And here we thought HBO was making just a decision on Broner, it turned out it was the whole organization behind him. Wow #boxing

stevemaxboxing: “@Myau1 @stevemaxboxing Yep! This is a big blow to HBO. I don't know what they hell they're thinking.” Phone Post

Wait so Broner is now done with HBO?

Is HBO fucking serious? Manny gets smoked, Floyd leaves and now the next best up and coming guy who has the skill, style and the Floyd style personality to be the next king is gone as well?

So SHowtime has Floyd, Canelo and now Broner?

Game over HBO. Donaire, Sergio, old Manny and JMM and Ward are good but that aint on par with the PPV king and the two best up and coming fighters in the sport.

Would have thought they would go all in with Broner and make him the HBO king going forward.

HBO's philosophy was always get the big fighters and offered them long term contracts.

Showtime was always about getting the biggest fights available and not offer long-term contracts to many fighters.

Looks like they're doing a switcheroo.....

A bigger divide and no Broner on HBO. Thats fucking shitty.

Hopefully the one good thing that comes from this is we end up with some legit CBS cards, cause I aint know anyone who get Showtime or has thought about it

people bash Haymon fighters, minus Russell Jr. Which fighters from his stable duck tough fights?

stupid for HBO, they think Arum is about the fans? lol, he's about himself.

If anything, this is a good thing. That opens up the budget for more fights overall.

Now Top Rank is in a tough situation since Showtime won't be able to buy their shitty fights, they're going to be forced to put on reasonable fights for HBO.

This mean Keith Thurman and Hopkins are leaving HBO too?

Dont really care about BHop at this point but was looking forward to watching Keith Thurmans career on HBO

Showtime needs a better TV deal in Canada, cause no one want to pay the money for the shit movie channels it comes with. They did put the Khan card a while back on TSN, if that became the norm I would be pumped

Some news and notes about the Timothy Bradley-Ruslan Provodnikov fight and the fallout from event …

- After his unanimous decision victory over Ruslan Provodnikov, Timothy Bradley admitted to HBO’s Max Kellerman in a post-fight interview that he thought he suffered a concussion because of repeated blows to the head. Dr. Paul Wallace, a California State Athletic Commission physician, advised Boxingscene.com after the fight that Bradley was sent to the hospital for signs of amnesia and not a possible concussion.

During the interview with Kellerman, Bradley did admit that he could not remember certain sequences in the fight.

- Do not count on Provodnikov dropping down and facing the best fighters at 140 pounds. Trainer Freddie Roach stated to a few members of the press after the fight that Provodnikov will remain at 147 pounds. “It has been hard for him to cut weight to get to 140 pounds. He’s not moving down.”

That would make things interesting considering there is talk of Provodnikov fight the winner or loser of the Brandon Rios-Mike Alvarado fight on March 30th. Would either boxer make the move up in weight to fight Provodnikov?

- After Bradley recovers from the brutal bout against Provodnikov, he is sure to get another “beating” of sorts. Trainer Joel Diaz says that he is going to have a stern talk with Bradley when the time is appropriate. Diaz was upset Bradley fought against the fight to Provodnikov, but not to trade with the hard-hitting Russian.

“He’s going to hear it from me,” said Diaz, who has trained Bradley since 2004. “I kept yelling at him to not trade with him because he (Provodnikov) was hurting him. I kept telling him to box, move, and work from the outside.”

- Promoter Artie Pellulo told Boxingscene.com that Provodnikov will be out of action six months. Not sure if he forecasted that time because of the cuts on Provodnikov’s face or to recuperate from the energy expended from the fight.

- Attendance at the Home Depot Center was announced at 3,050.
