I think ggg is too much of a risk for Martinez right now. Martinez has got the job done but he has not looked sharp his last couple fights. Gennady is hungry and hits like a mule Phone Post 3.0

pharo,

read a couple articles mentioning that GGG and Macklin (Spelling?) looking at one another. Not sure how much weight they hold or what will come of it though

TiliShkodrani - I can't wait for Donaire-Rigondeaux. I haven't been this excited for a fight in a while. These guys are both so good I expect to see rediculus technical action. No matter who wins.

And then Canelo a week later.

I'm excited for both of these as well Tili

I do think Donaire gets Riggy though. Donaire's very athletic to Riggy's great technical boxing and counter-punching. Donaire's also a great puncher and I just don't think Riggy's chin holds up when Donaire finds him.

GGG will beat Macklin easier then Martinez, which will give more fuel for GGG facing Martinez.

Arum: Not Rios, Marquez or Bradley Next For Pacquiao                                                                                                                                             Article Link - http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&opt=printable&id=64020#ixzz2PSIAfIHj

Eight-division world champion and Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao will face either of the two men, who beat him in his last two fights — Juan Manuel Marquez, who scored a sixth round knockout last Dec. 8, or Timothy Bradley, who won a widely condemned split decision on June 9.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum ruled out Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios as a possible opponent for Pacquiao in a planned September bout in either Macau or Singapore.

“Rios lost his last fight and is not in consideration as an opponent for Manny,” said Arum.

He was reacting to Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz, who told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard a day earlier that while Rios lost, “it was a good fight and was close and entertaining.”

Koncz added that he didn’t think the defeat reduced the chances of Rios fighting Pacquiao.

“I don’t want to comment on that. I’m the one who raises the money,” said Arum.

Speaking from Hong Kong in a three-way conversation with Australian promoter Peter Maniatis and his co-hosts on the weekly boxing show on SEN Radio in Melbourne, Arum said: “Rather than Rios, it would be Marquez or Bradley, who will face Pacquiao in his next fight.”

Arum added that”driving the engine are the people at the Venetian,” which will stage its first blockbuster fight card on Saturday, headlined by China’s two-time Olympic gold medalist and three-time world amateur flyweight champion Zou Shiming.

Arum said there is a “little internal dispute” between the Venetian people in Macau and Singapore, who both want Pacquiao’s next fight planned for September.

In the meantime, boxingscene.com quoted Marquez’s Hall-of-Fame trainer Ignacio Beristain, who said that while Marquez showed interest in fighting Bradley, the only fighter, who could bring in the kind of money Marquez wants, is Pacquiao.

“I think Juan can be well prepared to fight Brandon Rios or Timothy Bradley, but definitely the best fight out there for him is Pacquiao because he is going to bring a lot of money. Brandon Rios is a very strong fighter but to be very frank, Mike Alvarado is also on the list. But Pacquiao guarantees big profits to the promoter and the fighter. That fight would bring a very substantial purse that benefits everyone involved in the event — and that is something that neither Brandon Rios or Timothy Bradley is able to bring.”

Arum said if Mares wants Donaire, the purse for Mares and spilt for GB has to be reasonable..and must fight on HBO.

Gamboa-Burgos to Land in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock?                                                                                                                                         Article Link - http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&opt=printable&id=64014#ixzz2PSJdMrmC

It looks like a fight between Yuriorkis Gamboa and Juan Carlos Burgos could end up taking place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has received a request from SMS Promotions — the company run by rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and which includes Gamboa in its stable — to promote a card at that venue on June 8.

SMS Promotions has informed the commission that Gamboa and Burgos would be on that card, according to Keith Kizer, the commission’s executive director.

The request is on the agenda for the commission’s April 8 hearing.

This fits with a recent tweet by Steve Kim of MaxBoxing.com that Gamboa-Burgos could be aired June 8 on HBO as part of a split-site doubleheader — as light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson is scheduled to face Adonis Stevenson that night on an HBO broadcast airing out of Montreal.

Though Gamboa and Burgos both last fought at junior lightweight, this bout might end up being in the lightweight division, according to a report last week by Mark Ortega of RingTV.com.

Gamboa last fought in December, taking a unanimous decision over Michael Farenas to improve his record to 22-0 with 16 knockouts. Burgos last fought in January, fighting to a draw with 130-pound titleholder Roman Martinez. He is now 30-1-1 with 20 knockouts.

Golovkin-Macklin Close For 6/29, Both Agree To Fight                                                                                                                                              Article Link - http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&opt=printable&id=64043#ixzz2PXnN3eeJ

WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (26-0, 23KOs) is likely to defend his titles against Matthew Macklin (29-4, 20KOs), subject to contracts, on June 29th in the main event of an HBO televised tripleheader in New York. Golovkin is blowing through the division like a tornado and the Kazakhstan bomber's reputation that he has become one of the most avoided men at 160-pounds. He already stopped Gabe Rosado and Nobuhiro Ishida since the start of the year.

It will be Macklin's third world title fight in his last four, a controversial defeat to Felix Sturm and an 11th round loss to Sergio Martinez doing much to enhance his reputation. But he will be up against it if he takes the fight with Golovkin, who has not waited on the judges' scorecards since 2008. The busy 'GGG' has already stopped Gabriel Rosado and Nobuhiro Ishida since the turn of the year.
