Lol that's funny.

Also, the winner of Martirosyan/Lara was supposed to challenge him for the belt and Vanes (i think) got a cut on his forehead with an accidental head butt and the fight was ruled a draw. Phone Post

By Luke Furman A real storm is brewing within the camp of Polish heavyweight Mariusz Wach (27-1, 15 KOs). The team is very upset with a recent report that appeared in the popular German publication Bild, which alleged that Wach's pre-fight drug test, connected to last month's fight with Wladimir Klitschko (59-3, 50 KOs), showed traces of anabolic steroids.

Wach's "A" sample tested positive, and the German Boxing Federation is allowing him to appeal by having the "B" sample tested. If the "B" sample also comes up positive, Wach could face a potential one-year ban. In an earlier article on BoxingScene.com, Wach stated that he was never informed of the positive result and was first made aware of the situation when the Polish press started calling him to discuss the Bild article.

In more stronger words, Wach's promoter, Mariusz Kolodziej of Global Boxing, exploded because neither he, or Wach, have received any official notification related to a failed drug test. "What's happened is a complete lack of professionalism on the part of the Germans. I do not believe the German press reports. If this was true, [the German Boxing Federation] would first inform the party with the most interest [in the result], which is me, and the same goes for Mariusz Wach. I repeat, this is a complete lack of professionalism. Until we get the official documents relating to the case we are not going to comment on anything," said Kolodziej.

Pacquiao looks sharp, hear this a lot lol Article Link - http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&opt=printable&id=60016#ixzz2E1hZhl9W This is a legal waiver. By Ronnie Nathanielsz

With less than one week to go before he takes on Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, "Fighter of the Decade" Manny Pacquiao looked sharp in sparring and is ready to go. Strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard that Pacquiao "looks good, looks sharp and looks ready to go, definitely." Pacquiao sparred four rounds with tough Frankie Gomez and another four rounds with one of the Roman twins in a training session that was watched by Pacquiao's charming wife Jinkee.

Pacquiao also did a couple of rounds on the punch-mitts with Filipino trainer Restituto "Buboy" Fernandez who does a good job in making Pacquiao throw flurries of punches and move constantly. Despite the sparring Ariza described the Saturday training at the Wild Card Gym of celebrated trainer Freddie Roach as "a light workout, not too bad" since Ariza has been advocating that Pacquiao "slowdown a little bit." Ariza told us he believes Pacquiao "knows what he wants to in his head. I'm sure he does.

Go in there, target this guy (Marquez) , keep pushing, pushing, pressure, pressure. Don't let this guy think." The strength and conditioning coach recalled that legendary Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez Sr told him recently that Pacquiao should return to being " a street fighter and let his hands go." Ariza remembers Chavez Sr telling him "the problem with Manny is he thinks too much and when he does some things he gives Marquez time. But when Manny loosens up and lets it go, Marquez looks lost. He didn't know what to do at times. That's Manny Pacquiao." Chavez said, "You don't know what he's doing when he throws so many punches. You don't have time to figure and set up a counter punch because it's boom-boom-boom and its coming from everywhere."

The Mexican warrior noted when you see Pacquiao trying to do one thing, and step over here, step over there and this and that. That's not his style. His style is let your hands go and go after him." Ariza quoted Chavez as telling him, "When Manny Pacquiao lets his hands go I don't believe there is anybody who can deal with that." Pacquiao was a smash hit in Times Square as the Top Rank crew broadcast "live" on a seven stories tall screen in Times Square in New York City, an unprecedented training session of Pacquiao last Friday from the Wild Card Gym.

Bob Arum Clears Up Pacquiao-Marquez Testing Claims

Article Link - http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&opt=printable&id=60024#ixzz2E1iLxDmp This is a legal waiver. By copying and using the material from this article, you agree to give full credit to BoxingScene.com or provide a link to the original article.

By Luis Sandoval

In an interview Freddie Roach did with BoxingScene last week, he said he had requested additional drug testing for both Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez. In the interview he said the testing request was rejected. Roach appeared to be indicating it was Marquez's side that rejected the testing but after further investigation, it appears he was indicating it was Top Rank.

In an interview with Leave it in the Ring radio, Roach again said his request for testing was rejected but it wasn't by Marquez, it was shot down by Bob Arum; the request never got far enough to reach Marquez. BoxingScene spoke with Bob Arum the day after we talked to Roach. Arum said nobody mentioned it to him and if additional testing was to happen, it would need to be handled by the commission. "Nobody suggested drug testing on either side until the issue came up this week. Because if the fighters had wanted drug testing I would've given the issue to the commission provided the commission would fund and the commission would've run pre-fight blood and urine tests.

But nobody asked me" said Arum. Additional drug testing in boxing given by outside agencies has become very common surrounding big fights. USADA (United States Anti Doping Agency) and VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association) have been the two agencies used to administer the additional testing. Arum informed BoxingScene that if any additional testing would happen, he would not use outside agencies. "Well I'm not going to do it with USADA or VADA or outside agencies without it being under the authority of the commission.

Because otherwise you get the nonsense you got in New York with Morales. Test, retest. You have to hand it over to the commission. And if the commission will do it, I think, if you provide them with the funds necessary to do it which we would've been prepared to do but nobody has mentioned pre fight drug testing" said Arum. At this point its clear there will be no additional drug testing for Pacquiao-Marquez IV and Marquez never denied a request to go through with it as reported last week.

By Bill "Two Scoops" Emes

There is still a possibility that we might get to see the Mexico vs. Puerto Rico grudge match between WBC 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and former three-division beltholder Miguel Cotto, according to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer. Golden Boy was planning to stage the fight on May 4th - but the match took a serious hit on Saturday night when WBA "regular" champion Austin Trout secure a lopsided twelve round decision over Cotto at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Schaefer did not agree with the lopsided scores of 119-109, 117-111 and 117-111. He felt the fight was a lot closer. He says a fight between Canelo and Cotto is not exactly a dead issue, but he didn't specify if the mega-match could still move forward, as originally planned, for Cinco De Mayo weekend. "It was an interesting fight. I think the scoring was a bit too wide....119-109 and 117-111...I think it was way too wide.

Paulie Malignaggi, who scored it for Showtime, had it a draw at 114-114. We knew Austin Trout had a difficult style and he obviously caused Miguel quite some problems. But Miguel came to fight and had his moments, so I think definitely it was a much closer fight than the results showed," Schaefer said. "The 154-pound division is a very deep division. I still think, depending on Miguel, we'll sit down with him and his team...there is still a possibility that you could see a Mguel-Canelo fight, if Trout is a possibility [for Canelo]. There are a lot of names at 154."

He just fought a blown Jr. Welterweight. I wouldn't put anything past GBP. They're not going to put him in with a dangerous low reward/high risk opponent until he starts to generate PPV revenue on his own.

GB trying to move forward with Cotto/Canelo even though Cotto just lost?

Guess they feel thats a bigger PPV fight and a bigger name for Canelo to beat than Trout even though Trout just beat Cotto rather easily.

Chris, Sulaiman and GBP know Trout is more of a threat then Cotto...I felt Canelo/Cotto would be a whooping.
