Leck Brosnar - Even after this, Floyd will not want any part of Pacman. He'll fight some mandatory challenger that'll basically be a joke of a fight at this point in his career, no disrespect to the opponent.
Manny never had shit for floyd, woulda been.embarassed even worse than.planking Phone Post

Based on what? Floyd has not faced a legit threat in years. At least Pac has the balls to face a guy who had a real chance to beat him. Pac would have kicked his ass 3-4 years ago.

They just had the fight of the year. I'd be down for another one.

But if I was JMM I would seriously consider retiring and walking away while I'm on top.

Pacquiao saying he didn't feel any difference in power.

By Miguel Rivera

Former eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38 KO) says he didn't feel a big difference in the punching power of Juan Manuel Marquez, who bulked up with muscle for this past Saturday's fourth fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Marquez knocked Pacquiao down in the third and then finished him with a single right hand with only a second remaining in the sixth round.

Pacquiao praises Marquez for landing a good shot in the third and says he never saw the right hand, in the sixth round, coming. He said "no" when asked if there was a significant difference in the punching power of his Mexican rival. "I didn't take enough precaution against an opponent who is not easy as demonstrated in the 42 rounds we've fought since 2004.

I did my best in the ring, but this is the sport of boxing. This is sport. I thought I was in control, and I hit him several times with powerful punches in the final two rounds, but the final punch [that ended the fight] was something I wasn't looking for and I never saw it coming. [In the third round] it was a good punch, but I was able to recover without problems and regain control of the fight. The second shot, I just didn't expect it and I didn't see it," Pacquiao said.

. Philippine boxing hero Manny Pacquiao shed tears on national television on Monday, saying he had let his country down in his devastating knockout loss to his great Mexican rival Juan Manuel Marquez. "The low morale, the sadness, I accept that. This is my job... But the reaction of the Filipinos, the many who cried, especially my family, it really hurts me," he said in an interview on the GMA network. The former eight-division world champion wiped tears from his eyes listening to his wife, Jinkee, make a tearful appeal on camera for her husband, who turns 34 next week, to hang up his gloves.

"When you see your husband get hurt, you cannot even sleep," she said in the interview, conducted in the United States after Saturday's Las Vegas bout. Asked if she wanted her husband to retire from boxing, she said: "You know the answer to that. He knows what I am asking him". Pacquiao's mother Dionisia made a separate appeal on the same station. "I have long asked you son, it is time to retire because you started boxing at such a young age. I always pray that he will stop. I asked God to tell my son to stop," she said. She said she was alarmed by her son's knock-out at the hands of Marquez in the sixth round of their non-title fight Saturday night local time in Las Vegas. The loss stunned a huge Philippine audience watching the fight live on television on Sunday. "I was shocked yesterday.

The way he suddenly fell," said Pacquiao's mother, who added that, like in previous bouts, she had only watched a recording because she could not bear to watch her son's fights live. But while moved by the women's entreaties, Pacquiao remained non-committal on calls for his retirement. "I don't want to hurt my family and the people who support them," was all he would say about his future plans. "I am OK. I just got overconfident in this fight. That is part of the game -- sometimes you win, sometimes you lose." Pacquiao said immediately after the loss that he intends to fight again.

The Filipino fighter who has won world titles in an unprecedented eight weight divisions has extended his boxing success into election to parliament, a career in showbusiness and commercial endorsements. But there have been questions about Pacquiao's focus on his boxing in recent years as he has had to deal with his duties as a congressman, host of a television game show and as pitchman for various products. In the past year he has also become a Bible preacher, though he insists his religion has not dulled his killer instinct in the ring.

#PacMarquez gate of $10,888,890 makes it 13th biggest gate in Nevada history, in front of Tyson-Bruno 2 and just behind Mayweather-Mosley.

It definitely exceeded the hype anyway. I love when big fights do that. Just out of curiosity, what do you think was the best fight of the year so far? Phone Post

I remember reading an article about a year ago where one of Floyd's old sparring partners said that Floyd wanted to wait until Manny slowed down and the he'd fight him.

Kind of like what Sugar Ray did to Hagler. I don't know how much of it, if any is true, but the Manny of 3-4 years ago was capable of beating Floyd IMO.

I always thought Floyd was by far the better boxer and he's a lot tougher then people give him credit for but Manny's speed was unnatural (pun kind of intended)! I don't think Floyd or any fighter in the world could deal with it but maybe that's why he refused the test.

The sad thing is that when this fight does happen (I think it will next year), and when Floyd wins, he still won't get the credit he deserves because he never fought Pac in his prime. Phone Post
