I'm surprised Floyd doesn't have Broner, although I know he isn't pleased with Broner's work ethic and outside the ring activities. He's still better and more marketable than those 3 guys. If not for the Mayweather affect they'd be fighting on ESPN2, ShoX prelims, and FS1 Phone Post 3.0

There's a 11 year old boy in my gym that can be the Aaron Pico of Boxing if all things go right for him. He just ran through cash flow at the kids junior Olympics a few months back. He was able to work with Floyd Sr. and did jump rope for Floyd too. I know the kids dad wants to take him at least once a month to work with them.

GayGuardMooseSaucy - I'm a horrible person, because I enjoyed watching TMT on the replay react to the knockout. His mom running over was weird. I don't know why Floyd bothers with those 3, it's like the 4 horsewomen for boxing. 1 great fighter and 3 hanger ons who aren't even close. All have been ko'd since Mickey Bey in 2013 Phone Post 3.0
same here, I don't know how many times I replayed the replays just to watch TMT in the back react to Love getting KTFO with his leg left twitching. Phone Post 3.0

i did as well. me and my wife were watching and each time we watched we noticed a different person completely falling to shambles watching the knockout. the one lady even ran over and was holding his leg, wtf? it was hilarious

Jleon's Corner - Furious

Mom Dukes - Full Sprint

Bouncers - Telling a half dead J'Leon to get up in front of his mother who's just short of cardiac arrest at that point

TMT Ladies - One screams and ducks behind who I thought was Ellerbe, a couple cover their eyes, Floyd's new ladies' jaw hits the floor, and the 'NOOOOO' accross every other face

TMT Men - Telling Jleon to keep his twitching ass right where he is and take the count.

Ringside Doctor - Gets up and starts getting her gloves and shit out the second Love hits the floor (this was my favorite)

Floyd - Motionless

I'm not exactly a hater of Love's but I do agree with everybody that says he was over-hyped. Whats sad is I remember when TMT first signed their guys like Love and Cuba Arias, Floyd was giving Jleon a ton of shit about how Love's ex gf had told him 'its me or boxing' and Floyd told him 'Well J.....the money comes first'.

.........ex gf prob texting Love pictures of KO as we speak.

Is Ward not fighting this fall? Seems every other big fighter from 160-176 has big fights scheduled.

Yet Ward sits on the sidelines

Quillin/Korobov is now in jeopardy as Quillin's side has not yet signed the contract and the already extended deadline is tomorrow. The purse bid was like 2 weeks ago and Korobov signed the contract only a few days later.

it would be far and away quillin's biggest payday. roc nation bidded significantly more than his own promoter. this fight could end up at the barclays with him getting a huge chunk of change and much needed exposure. he's being advised wrong or is a silly guy if he's not jumping all over this

If you want to party like it's the mid-2000s, promoter Ivaylo Gotzev of Epic Sports and Entertainment has just the boxing card, one that will feature the return of former heavyweight titleholder Samuel Peter and former welterweight and junior middleweight titlist Ricardo Mayorga, as well as former junior middleweight titleholder Luis Ramon "Yory Boy" Campas.

The trio, long past their best days, will appear in separate eight-round bouts on a Sept. 27 show at the OKC Downtown Airpark in Oklahoma City, Gotzev said on Tuesday.

"We have a well-rested and recommitted Sam Peter eager to return to the ring in one of the main events, plus Ricardo Mayorga, who always entertains the crowd," Gotzev said.

Peter (34-5, 27 KOs), a native of Nigeria living in Las Vegas, will be fighting for the first time in 3½ years and is being matched extremely softly against Oklahoma City club fighter Ron Aubrey (12-3-1, 12 KOs), 47, an enforcer on the ice during a 12-year minor league hockey career.

Peter, who turns 34 on Saturday, won a world title in 2008 by knocking out Oleg Maskaev but lost the belt in his first defense when he was punished for eight one-sided rounds by Vitali Klitschko later that year.

Peter has not fought since suffering a ninth-round knockout loss to Robert Helenius in 2011, his second knockout loss in a row. In the previous fight, Peter was stopped in the 10th round challenging heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, Vitali's younger brother, in 2010. Aubrey has not fought since 2012 and his opponents had a combined record of just 9-39-1 when he faced them.

Mayorga (29-8-1, 23 KOs), 40, of Nicaragua, has not fought since suffering an 12th-round knockout loss to Miguel Cotto challenging for his junior middleweight world title in 2011.

He was supposed to end his long layoff in February, but when promoter Jimmy Burchfield put him on one of his cards, Don King, Mayorga's longtime promoter, threatened legal action, claiming he still had a contract with Mayorga, and Burchfield dropped him from the show.

King had also previously stopped Mayorga from participating in an MMA bout, claiming his promotional agreement covered all combat sports.

Gotzev, who made the deal with Burchfield for the canceled February fight, told ESPN.com that King's contract with Mayorga is long expired and that with him promoting the card, he won't take Mayorga off even if King threatens legal action.

"King knows he doesn't have a deal with Mayorga anymore," said Gotzev, who used to manage Peter and battled with King, who used to promote him, time and again over his fights and purses. "King has all my numbers and my email. If he wants to get in touch with me about this, I am ready. But he knows there is no contract. Ricardo Mayorga is free and clear to enter this contest and any other he wants."

Campas (102-17-3, 79 KOs), 43, of Mexico, has been boxing professionally for 27 years. He won a junior middleweight world title in 1997 by stopping Raul Marquez in the eighth round, made three successful defenses and then lost it by seventh-round knockout to Fernando Vargas in 1998.

Since challenging Oscar De La Hoya for a junior middleweight title in 2003, and getting knocked out in the seventh round, he not been in a significant fight but has remained active fighting all over the world, although mainly in Mexico. In his last fight, he won a six-round decision against Daniel Gonzalez in April in Montana.

If Mayorga and Campas win, Gotzev said he plans to match them together in a fight that might have mattered a decade ago. Gotzev said the fighters have agreed to fight if they win on Sept. 27. Gotzev said the bout would likely be in Texas at a site and date to be determined.

"Styles make fights and that one would have 'barn burner' written all over it, if and when it happens," Gotzev said. "It won't be easy for either man to get past their opponents in September, but if they do, we've got a war on our hands for the next event."

Promoter Leon Margules of Warriors Boxing is working on a pair of quadrupleheaders -- Oct. 4 and Nov. 1 -- that will air on Showtime.

Although the cards are not finalized, some of the fights are. Margules told ESPN.com that the Oct. 4 card at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, will be headlined by junior lightweight titlist Rances Barthelemy (20-0, 12 KOs), a Miami-based Cuban defector, in his first defense against Argentina’s Fernando Saucedo (52-5-3, 8 KOs). The fight was made three weeks ago.

Also on the card will be a junior middleweight bout between contenders Vanes Martirosyan (34-1-1, 21 KOs), whose lone loss was a decision to Demetrius Andrade for a vacant world title in November, and Willie Nelson (23-1-1, 13 KOs), who has won seven fights in a row.

A third bout will feature former light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson (32-3, 18 KOs), who scored a first-round knockout of journeyman George Blades on June 21 in Dawson’s first fight since losing the title by first-round knockout to Adonis Stevenson in June 2013. Dawson-Blades was contracted at 179 pounds, but an out-of-shape Dawson weighed in at 182¾ but promised to be better conditioned for his next bout.

The fourth fight on Oct. 4 has not yet been determined.

The Nov. 1 card, which will take place at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, will be headlined by light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara (25-3, 15 KOs), a popular Polish fighter who lives in Chicago and is one of adviser Al Haymon’s newest signees. Fonfara, whose opponent is not set, gave champion Adonis Stevenson a very tough fight on May 24 but lost a decision in a grueling fight in which Fonfara survived two knockdowns in the first half of the fight to mount a huge rally and drop Stevenson in the ninth.

Also on the Nov. 1 card, bantamweight titlist Tomoki Kameda (30-0, 19 KOs) of Japan will make his mandatory against Alejandro Hernandez (28-10-2, 15 KOs) of Mexico. Margules does not promote either boxer, but won an Aug. 8 purse bid for the right to promote the bout.

The two other fights will feature welterweight Roberto Garcia (36-3, 23 KOs) and middleweight Caleb Truax (24-1-2, 14 KOs) in separate bouts against opponents to be determined, according to Margules, who has both dates thanks to his close relationship with Haymon, with whom he has been working closely of late.

Barthelemy, Martirosyan, Dawson, Fonfara, Kameda, Garcia and Truax are all with Haymon, who has been on a signing binge this year and whose stable is now around 115 fighters, which is around the same number as promoters Top Rank and Golden Boy have combined.

Cotto won't be fighting in December, has decided not to return to the ring until next year.

Him and Canelo should have just fought next. Screw all this "let the fight marinate" stuff.

Decent enough opponent I guess, although if this is on PPV there's no chance in hell I'm buying it.

Personally I wanted to see Kirkland/Clottey.

I don't think this deserves its own thread thread, but it's a rare photo of Ali talking down a suicidal guy from a ledge.

Quillin has turned down the Korobov fight and is vacating his title.

WTF? I assume this is some Al Heymon fuckery but unless he's been quietly lining up a huge fight this seems like career suicide.

LOS ANGELES - Middleweight star Peter Quillin announced today that he is vacating his WBO middleweight title, effective immediately, in order to pursue bigger opportunities at 160 pounds.

"I'd like to thank WBO president Paco Valcarcel and his organization for their support throughout the years," said Quillin. "Winning the WBO world championship was a highlight in my career and something I'll never forget, this is a difficult decision, but in order to make the fights the fans and I want against my fellow middleweights at the top of the division, I needed to relinquish the title. This is an exciting new chapter in my life, and I'm looking forward to cementing my spot as the best middleweight in the world."

Brooklyn, New York's Quillin (31-0, 22 KOs) won the WBO middleweight title on October 20, 2012 with a 12-round decision victory over Hassan N'Dam. The 31-year-old went on to successfully defend his title three times with victories over Fernando Guerrero, Gabriel Rosado, and Lukas Konecny, establishing himself as an elite middleweight champion. Now, Quillin will seek even bigger challenges in the near future.

Roc Nation, a new promotional player, laid down $1.9 million dollars to secure the promotional rights to Quillin vs. mandatory challenger Matt Korobov. There were rumors for weeks that Quilling was being steered to a title showdown with WBA 'regular' champion Danny Jacobs. Bother Quillin and Jacobs are managed by Al Haymon.

In a statement provide to BoxingScene.com, Roc Nation reacted to the news.

“Roc Nation Sports wishes Peter Quillin good luck.  I'm sure he has a bigger pay day to have given up his title and 1.4 Million. We will move on to the next fight to promote” – Michael R. Yormark, Roc Nation, President & Chief of Branding and Strategy.
