Best one I've seen since Marg vs Cintron 2.

It was a beauty.

Oh lord, was that the uppercut from Margarito right up under the pec of Cintron? He spiked that ribcage, that one was killer.

it's crazy to see how tensed his body got after that shot...really crippled him, Rees said he doesn't hit like a normal 135 pounder.

Before anything at 140 i'd like to see him take the Rios v Alvarado 2 winner. Preferrably Rios just because the second the talking starts between them i'm grabbing popcorn and waiting for them to blow the press confrence mic's up insulting one another. Then I get to watch them fight!

either would be a huge fight at 140.

You know i'll watch either fight as well Barry, but ACT like you don't want to see those two go off on eachother for the leading months and the fight.......I can see it now...it'll be so much better than Garcia's dad and Judah's "Take your Janet Jackson hat off"

Bute vs. Pascal Agreed Upon, Dawson Fight is Out?

By Rick Reeno

BoxingScene.com has been advised that a Canadian super-fight has been agreed upon for Lucain Bute (31-1, 224KOs) and Jean Pascal (27-2-1, 16KOs) to face each other on an undetermined date, possibly at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Pascal is currently booked to fight WBC light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson in a rematch on May 25th at the Bell Centre, with HBO televising, but there appears to be a potential change in direction.

A package deal for Pascal-Bute reportedly involves a guarantee of $2 million dollars to each fighter and a rematch clause - but those terms have not been confirmed.

Pascal's promoter Yvon Michel, confirmed to BoxingScene that a deal has been reached with InterBox - for a Bute vs. Pascal showdown.

Michel is not ruling out the possibility of moving forward with the Dawson rematch, indicating that Pascal's deal to face Bute is not cemented on the outcome of the Dawson fight.

Michel and his team are currently evaluating their options, in terms of withdrawing from the Dawson rematch to fight Bute - or going forward with Dawson and then facing Bute. Michel reveals that a final decision will come down in 48 hours.

"What I can confirm at this point is that Lucian Bute and Jean Pascal will be fighting each other. I can not confirm when it will be held. We have a firm intention, on both sides, to do that fight. That fight is a huge, huge fight...the biggest fight ever, and not only involving Canadians, but the biggest fight ever to be held in Canada and that includes the Leonard-Duran fight that was held here. This fight has all of the ingredients to make it huge. We are at the stage right now where we are evaluating all of the implications of going one way or another [regarding Dawson]," Michel told BoxingScene.com.

"No matter what, we are committed to fight each other. Bute might fight an interim fight and Pascal might fight an interim fight. We are not [ruling] out that possibility. Like I told you, we are looking at the possibility of going straight [to that fight], but before we make a decision we want to evaluate all of the implications. No matter where Pascal-Bute will be held, the arena will be to small. We are not trying to offend anybody. We want to make a final comment [regarding our decision] in 48 hours."

Dawson's promoter, Gary Shaw, has heard the rumors of Pascal-Bute being negotiated and he is currently been swamped with phone calls from overseas media.

Shaw recently held a meeting in New York with Pascal's promoter, Yvon Michel, and the two of them discussed their May card

"I sent Yvon three emails and two phones call. I've not heard from him. I met with Yvon in New York and he guaranteed me Pascal would fight Dawson on May 25th. All of a sudden I can't reach him. Yvon always tells me how honest he is. If he's honest, then the fight between Pascal and Dawson will happen on May 25th. If he's not honest, Pascal will pull out. I would imagine that HBO would not be happy because they accommodated him with the date," Shaw told BoxingScene.com.

"[Originally], Yvon told me and HBO that Pascal needed more time to heal, and would be unable to fight in March. HBO tried to accommodate Yvon by rescheduling the fight to May 25th, so that it would also work for the Bell Center.  I met with Yvon this week in New York, where he told me that [InterBox CEO Jean] Bedard had offered him a fight with Bute, and he would put Dawson on the undercard, give him 600,000 and we could bring our own opponent. I told him that I would never do that to my fighter or HBO. We finished lunch, I asked do we still have a fight, and Yvon said yes and shook my hand, and said we have a deal. I would be very disappointed to find out that Yvon has done anything underhanded. But remember, this is boxing, and stranger things have happened."

Pascal told BoxingScene that he's currently training for Dawson unless his promoter tells him otherwise.

"Right now I'm focused on the fight with Chad Dawson. I was told that Lucian Bute has [entered the picture] and he wants to fight me, but right now I'm thinking about Dawson," Pascal said.

Pacquiao-Marquez V: Nacho Will Leave Decision To Juan

                                                                                                                                                                                                Article Link - http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&opt=printable&id=62508#ixzz2LIYMgx00

By Miguel Rivera

BoxingScene.com reported earlier that Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum has scheduled a Wednesday meeting with Juan Manuel Marquez to discuss a fifth fight with Manny Pacquiao. Last week, Marquez's trainer Nacho Beristain explained that he doesn't see a reason for a fifth fight with Pacquiao, and similar comments have been made by Juan Manuel in several interviews.

Even though there have been four battles, with the last one being won by Marquez with a sixth round knockout, Nacho says there is still a lot of interest in a fifth meeting. While he doesn't like the idea of a fifth fight, he will leave the final decision in the hands of Juan Manuel.

"There is a still a lot of interest in a fight between Juan Manuel and Pacquiao. I'm the one who does not want it for Marquez. It would be a dangerous fight. I have an obligation, as the person in charge of the corner, to look out for my fighter. People think their rivalry has already burned itself out, but there is still a lot of interest. The president of the Philippines put $20 million dollars in the table to take this fight to their country, because Manny's defeat hurt him very much....he is an idol over there and they want revenge," Nacho said.

"With a fifth fight, he might become the highest paid athlete in the history of Mexican sports, but [the offer for a fifth fight might not be] sufficient. In Dubai, a prince is offering him $15 million tax-free dollars to fight an African opponent over there...... there are other offers that are being reviewed. I have always believed that the fighter is the only one who has the right to decide what he wants to do. If he continues in boxing or decides to retire, I have to keep supporting him because he has been with me for 14 years. I will accept whatever he wants to do with great pleasure."

Broner Rejects Gamboa: He's on PEDs, Clean Your Piss

By Bill "Two Scoops" Emes

WBC lightweight champion Adrien Broner (26-0, 22KOs) has no interest in a fight with Yuriorkis Gamboa (22-0, 16KOs) - unless the Cuban Olympic gold medal winner clears his name from the recent controversy that linked him to a Miami lab that was allegedly distributing performance enhancing drugs to dozens of top athletes. Gamboa was the only boxer linked to the lab.

Broner vs. Gamboa is a very anticipated match. Broner moved up to the lightweight division last year and captured the WBC championship with a TKO of Antonio DeMarco. He returned on Saturday night and retained that title with a fifth round TKO victory over Gavin Rees.

Gamboa plans to move up to 135-pounds by his next fight, although Broner could soon move to 140. "Yuriorkis Gamboa is fighting PEDs. He's on PEDs. I don't want to hear about Yuriorkis Gamboa. Tell him to go get his piss cleaned and then he can come talk to Adrien Broner. Other than that he's done," Broner said.

That's one hell of a call for JMM. Your fam, your trainer of childhood, and others want him to get out. He's got a country behind him and another against him in the Philippines. I'm down to see it if and wherever it takes place. I guess I won't be too mad if it doesn't tho.

Barry/Forum?

What do you guysgot for an official score on the Marquez/Pacquiao series? Being honest it's 1 and 2 to Pacquiao, 3 and 4 to Marquez IMO. Does the KO end the series for you? Or does the smoke clear after a 5th?

He knows his boxing but he's so goddamn biased and he lets it get in the way of reality so he's got no credibility for his arguments. He's the same way with mma, except he knows less
