Gomi hit him with some hard shots, true, but Danzig outstruck and outgrappled him.

Look at their faces post fight. Danzig (the white guy whose face's usually swell and bruise easier) looked fine while Gomi's face was fucked and starting to swell.

Clueless judges piss me off to no end.

Please argue how dropping a guy wins him a round he was otherwise out struck/out grappled in./rant

FRAT: I'm gay for Mac Danzig and dislike UFC judging

*EDIT* Removed language where I call people who thought Gomi won are stupid. Was a bit strong and reactionary.

"Please argue how wobbling and dropping a guy wins him a round he was otherwise out struck/out grappled in."

Well, Effective Striking is subjective, and a judge could see that while Danzig landed a higher volume, Gomi did much more damage, thus he was more Effective. Just speculating as I have not watched it. However, all of the tweets have said it was a very close fight and could go either way.

You're right, being out grappled and landing less strikes wins fights, assuming you drop your opponent once.

How could I have forgotten. The judging criteria is so confusing!

Not a robbery at all. Could have gone either way, but I think the judges got it right.

Clearly you were wanting Danzig to win and you're a bit upset. Phone Post

Thank you for your intelligent response. The problem with the damaging strikes is that it did not show with swelling or bruising on Mac's face... at all.

And I am not trying to argue this is an awful robbery.

Just another close fight the judges got wrong again.

When more comprehensive stats come out I'll post the full grappling stats, which clearly will favor Danzig.

Good, close, competitive fight. Dazing won it though.

GOMI dropped him. That is huge. They were in Macao , and the Home Country lost almost every single fight so far. The close decision went to Gomi..... It is home field advantage.

I post stats clearly demonstrating Danzig won the stand up in round 1. Anybody with a pair of working eyeballs saw he also won the grappling.

Then my post is followed by someone saying Gomi won rd 1.....

there was no "clearly won that fight" for either fight.

You could argue anything from 29-28 Danzig to 30-27 Gomi and you wouldn't necessarily be wrong.

I do not understand. My comment is simple. Although Danzig probably won the fight, Gomi dropped him which is huge. Furthermore, since they are in China , with Gomi being of obvious Asian decent and fighting in Japan, it is clear that Gomi would get a Hometown nod if the fight was close. The fight was close.

Furthermore, many of the "hometown" fighters lost, so that made it even more slanted in favor of a Hometown fighter.

Why would that be a troll comment?
