Sounds like he'll probably heal up just in time to fight Eddie Alvarez in the UFC. Would be amazing. Phone Post

Would love if Gil gets the winner of Cerrone/Pettis for his UFC Debut

No way should he get a #1 contender shot in his first fight, out of a farm-team organization, coming off that kind of injury and inactivity.

What's Gil going to do if Nate Diaz wins the belt? Wait it out? Move up to 170? Phone Post

I don't think Gil coming aboard will derail plans for Pettis/Cerrone to get the next shot.

I can see him debuting in February at the PPV in Anaheim against as big of a named opponent as they have available. Phone Post

Orcus Knows MMA Better Than Goku - Sounds like he doesn't want to risk anything and just hurry up and fight in the ufc Phone Post
My exact thoughts. Can't say I blame him, losing to Healy at final SF show = disastrous Phone Post

Yeeeaaaah. And Hector Lombard is going to smash everybody.
*derp*

He should fight Eddie, and neither one of them are threatening the top-5.

Huge difference Stonepony since Lombard was ranked by defualt and hype more then the ranked fighters hes faced. Look at Belfort top 10 with only one top 10 win and that was from 4 years ago against Linland.

Regardless Gil has beat top 5-10 opponents and deserves a fight then a title shot.

There is a big difference between Lombard and Gil. I think Gil would assrape bendo, cerrone, and Pettis. And I think he'd beat Nate but that fight will never happen. He's probably top 3 in world but lack of fight in s/f keeps him lower in rankings

Gil is hype too my friend...
"Gil would assrape bendo,cerrone,and Pettis."
How can anybody take that nonsense seriously?

How about Gil gets one single victory in the UFC before we start pretending that he's the best? He's not going to beat Nate, let alone Benson, Frankie could come up light on no notice and handle him easily. Gil is talked up, because he's a not-UFC fighter. Same thing with Eddie. Same thing with Hector. I don't think Gil beats Eddie, and Eddie wasn't even the best in Bellator.

I will make a SN bet with anybody on this. If Gil gets a top-contender in his first UFC fight, he loses.

How about Diego Sanchez and Gil? Gil gets a casual name and exposure to the UFC audience and Diego is supposedly going to LW again so why not?

It would be a good main card fight on a pay per view and I actually think it would be a great fight. Phone Post

Had a browse through UK magazine Fighting Fit that dropped this morning and it had Gil on the cover. Unfortunate title:

There are too many good 155's. Regardless who it is, Melendez should fight a top contender before a title shot. I like the winner of Cerrone/Pettis idea doh.
