Pretty good list, though don't see why Rickson is on there. As a BJJer sure, but as an MMA guy, Rickson has accomplished nothing.

Whoa! I hope you're just joking. He was definitely in a different era but to say that is just insane. Phone Post

exactly. and did BJ say his favorite MMA fighters, or his favorite fighters?

as far as i'm concerned he could have said mike tyson and i would have been okay with him on the list.

Iron Mike would be a lot harder to question than Rickson, tbh.

Brings into question: what constitutes a 'fight' or a 'fighter'. There have been entire threads about the subject, debating competition with striking vs pure grappling. Phone Post

willienugget - He could have said his fucking brother though. It's a list of his favs. If Rickson is among his favs so be it. You could say you like M&Ms and nobody should question it even though everyone knows Butterfinger whoops that ass all day.

Right. Favorite and best are not the same words.

1. Rickson beat NO ONE in MMA.

2. Sport BJJ is not a fight. They are not fighters, they are grapplers.

BJ said "fighter" so he is discussing MMA. Or did you miss the other 4 on the list? It's obvious he's discussing MMA. He buys into the myth of Rickson, just like BJ fans buy into the myth that BJ belongs ina discussion of GOATs. His words, not just mine.

Okay.. I now understand -66. You understood WAAAAY better than me what BJ meant.

Btw Rickson beat everybody from HIS day minus maybe Sak but his son passed so MOST tend to give him a pass on that. YOU obviously do not! Phone Post
