Help Save Independent Musicians from Greedy Corporations

There has been a bill introduced in Congress, the so-called Internet
Radio “Fairness” Act, that was created for Clear Channel and Pandora
so they can make more money and pay musicians less. The owner of

Pandora has emailed his customers with misleading information and has

not given musicians equal time on his site.

The bill:
1. reduces payment to musicians by 85%.
2. strips musicians of right to collectively bargain.
3. doesn't allow the copyright royalty judges to consider whether a
kind of digital radio might replace sales.

There are already 45% fewer independent musicians now than they were
in 2002 (US Bureau of Labor Statistics)
2011 - http://www.bls.gov/iag/tgs/iag711.htm
2002 - http://www.bls.gov/oes/2003/may/oes272042.htm (covers most of 2002)

Internet businessmen delivering music should not make more than the
people creating music.

I don't know much about Pandora, but I'm not at all surprised at Clear Channel being one of the devils in the story. This is fucked up.
