http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2012/12/3/3723320/ufc-156-urijah-faber-scheduled-fight-ivan-menjivar

A little over a week ago reports started surfacing that perennial contender Urijah Faber would return to action at UFC 156 against Vaughan Lee. The decision was widely criticized for being an extreme mismatch. With Lee struggling with a UFC record of 1-2 and his only win coming over a faded Kid Yamamoto, it's hard to argue that logic.

However, according to Tatame Faber won't be getting a lay up in his next fight. Instead he'll be facing Ivan Menjivar. The two first met 6 years ago at TKO 24: Eruption. Faber came out of the fight with the win after Menjivar was disqualified for landing an illegal kick to a downed opponent.

Menjivar is coming off a very impressive armbar victory over Azamat Gashimov at UFC 154. He 3-1 since debuting in the UFC at 129 with his only loss coming by decision to Mike Easton. Faber is coming off a decision loss to Renan Barao. They fought in the main event at UFC 149 for the interim Bantamweight title.

This is probably the best card in recent memory. I pray it looks like something close to this come fight time.

-Jose Aldo (21-1) vs. Frankie Edgar (14-3-1)
-Alistair Overeem (36-11) vs. Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva (17-4)
-Rashad Evans (17-2-1) vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (20-5)
-Jon Fitch (24-4-1) vs. Demian Maia (17-4)
-Erick Silva (14-3) vs. Jay Hieron (23-6)
-Urijah Faber (26-6) vs. Ivan Menjivar (25-9)

mmaweekly is reporting that this fight will happen at 157 not 156. With 157 being in Cali it appears they want Faber to fight in his home state.

Will hopefully be a six fight main card (if no injuries), but if I had to choose one fight to put as a headlining prelim it would have to be Hieron/Silva

Awesome card though! Phone Post

The card is good, but it will flunk with the PPV buys.
