First issue I was not really digging it. But it is a great story, just took an issue to build.

you are right! i didn't check interviews, perhaps he wanted this series to be the end for Brit? but Image started a series that lasted 12 issues with him overseeing? cxl'd after 12 issues due to low sales and bad marketing.

upping Brit as i type ;-)

BigWilliam, Zenoplata, bcolflesh - you're welcome and glad you enjoyed!

I loved it, the mature Destroyer resonated with me somewhat and the bloody messes helped too LOL

Like Brit only much better. Brit just has no personality.

I liked Brit, read it ages ago. Then I was out of comics for awhile, got back in. Somehow, on the strength of the character (vaguely recall him from 1970's Roy Thomas Invaders) and Kirkman's name attached to the Writing, I checked this out.

Glad I did. Something resonated with me and Marlowe. After I read it, posted here saying something like "my recent reads"... not much responses IIRC... fast forward to this week I go blue and took it upon myself to put my money where my mouth was and upped it for the GG to read. lol at me

I bought the Brit trades after getting really into Invincible and Walking Dead some years ago and was terribly disappointed. They just read so flat, Brit seemed to have no personality, to me at least, beyond the Dirty Harry exterior. If you are looking for a guy that just kicks ass and takes names, Brit definitely fits the bill. Just being a Kirkman fan I had hoped for more, kind of what we see here in Destroyer.

BigWilliam,

If i read Destroyer first, then read Brit - i may feel the same way you do. But I read Brit first before Destroyer - maybe that made me appreciate Destroyer more... perhaps Kirkman really thought about this storyline and time to craft the story... he nailed the human side of the story  which is what probably what resonated with me. I'm feeling old so perhaps that's the reason I like Destroyer. The art and gore helped cement my liking this mini too lol
