Background
Detective Richard Fell is transferred over the bridge from the big city to Snowtown, a feral district whose police investigations department numbers three and a half people (one detective has no legs). Dumped in this collapsing urban trashzone, Richard Fell is starting all over again. In a place where nothing seems to make any sense, Fell clings to the one thing he knows to be true: everybody's hiding something.

More Info:

SG’s NOTE:  Not in the TPB but in the single issues was the “Backmatter” which served as a letters column, also Warren Ellis showing the creative process with a partial script as well as the usually real-life story which inspired Ellis to write the current issue. Will post the Backmatter later. If you like TV shows like Sherlock, Elementary, Pysch, The Mentalist, Lie To Me, etc. I believe you will like Fell.

This thread has pix from the TPB which collected the following issues:

Issue #1 (September 2005)
Issue #2 (October 2005)
Issue #3 (November 2005)
Issue #4 (March 2006)
Issue #5 (May 2006)
Issue #6 (August 2006)
Issue #7 (February 2007)
Issue #8 (April 2007)

Another one of my favorite series. #5 is THE best issue IMO. Some more Warren Ellis goodness coming. Enjoy!

Props to Fawkes for the digital rip of the TPB

There is more to comics than just superhero fare. Trying to help the GG broaden their horizons. What makes it twisted for me is that Ellis based his scripts on Real Life! Much like his Global Frequency was all cutting-edge science, Ellis helps to prove Life is Stranger Than Fiction and Life Imitates Art !!!

That would make an awesome TV show. One man, low budget, working in a shithole, CSI.

This is Warren Ellis's best stuff. Just great, one of my all time favorites.

Agreed.

As much as I'm a Warren Ellis fan, I've not read Transmetropolitan yet and his various superhero stuff. But almost anything he writes is worth checking out for all his wacky ideas that seems to work well.

Transmet is also excellent. Very different from this though.
