Around 4 yrs ago I was working in Florida and get called in to the bank Atlantic center in sunrise for some corporate CBS gig. I think it's gonna be a pretty boring day until I find out that ken shamrock the baddest man on the planet is there!! And I'm gonna be shaving him! I did a great job then when getting ready to leave I came back into the room to find him bleeding with my razor in hand!!! Phone Post

Thats funky...what in the hell was the event? I cant remember the last time Ken even fought

Me thinks he's joking about the kimbo fight.

Not really an encounter but I went to middle school and high school with the Healy brothers. They've always been good dudes. I'll never root against them nor pick rationally when they fight lol. Phone Post

Indeed I remember meeting Stitch and he was leaving the bar he was appearing at and my camera was messing up so I said it's cool another time. Stitch goes fuck that shit and let me figure out my camera issue and took a picture. Definitely an awesome dude. Phone Post

I met Tank at a UPW show, I was a nervous 16 yr old skinny kid taking a picture with a fairly drunk Tank. I tried to not do the fist pose, but he turns to me and says "put your fuckin fist up man" in a very nice voice actually. I started laughing so if I can locate the old ass picture I will post it here. It is probably in a shoe box somewhere.

Later that night, Tank and that bald bodyguard dude had to leave for starting shit with Ken Shammy during his dog collar match that my uncle was reffing. I asked if it was a work afterward and apparently it wasn't. This was after Tank got up on his chair chanting "TITO TITO" and sorry to say, I joined in. I felt we were buddies at that point.

I've been real lucky over the last few years and have met many, many fighters and icons in the sport.  The first may well be the most memorable though.

Right after I fought in the first UGGP I went back to the table where my now ex gf was sitting with Gladiator Mouthguards owner Icedog11.  He told me Jens Pulver was at the fights and asked if I'd like to meet him.

Well fuck yeah I did.  I still have that pic on my profile.

My other favorite was when I was working a TUFF-N-UFF event right before UFC 100.  Joe Rogan and Eddie Bravo were in Vegas and came to the show, I was working the event and part of my job was escorting VIP's to their seats.  They showed up and introduced themselves to me and I commented that I see them on the UG all the time.  Joe asked me who I was and I said "I used to be Dreamer420 but am DreamerMMA now" and his eyes got wide and he says "You're that guy who's dad grows that huge weed!"

I had to share that one with my dad, one of his proudest moments.

Since people are talking about how cool BJ Penns mom is I'll chime in with one more.

Another TUFF-N-UFF show, I was working a UGGP card attached to it and had some shirts coming in from Tapout for the fighters, I came to find out they shipped the shirts to arrive saturday but didn't set them for Saturday delivery so they were sitting uselessly at a UPS warehouse in Vegas and my fighters were looking to be shirtless.

I met BJ Penns mom, Lorraine, at one of the booths where she was selling gear.  We got to talking and I mentioned my dilemna so she offered to let the guys have some of her gear if they'd wear them to the ring.  The guys were more than happy to do so.  She also gave me a couple of shirts and a hat that I still have.  She gave me contact info if I needed anything but I never did get a hold of her after the event.

Seriously one of the sweetest ladies ever, constantly smiling, warm personality, just a great lady.

Hel ya! Sounds like she is the same with people across the board which is great to hear. It may sound corny but I genuinely enjoy meeting the family of a guy as much as I enjoy meeting them. Its cool to see where they come from or who raised them. I remember meeting Pat Barry's mom once at the UFC Expo in Houston. He's like "YO! EVERYBODY SAY WHATS UP TO MY MAMA!!!" And people looked at him like it was a joke..WHen I turned around and saw her I was like yaa, theres no WAY that lady is not his mama. Dead Ringer.

I saw Scott Morris eating at Pancho's Mexican Buffet. Awkward to talk to him about his fight with Pat Smith.

haha! Cant wait to see that pic dude. Tank is somebody I think people would all like to see at a UFC Fan Expo. I made another thread regarding a possible "UFC Legends booth" at next years Expo...I hope it gets enough buzz to get someones attention. I wana meet Keith HACKNEY!

Funny you should mention Pat Smith. He is one of the guys I would most like to meet. Im very interested in meeting a lot of the fighters from the early era of the. Pat, Maurice, Marco Ruas, Severn etc. Guys who were there when nobody cared and now live in obscurity. Call me selfish, but Id like to see the UFC do some kind of even for them at the next UFC Fan Expo. IM nearly positive that many of the old schoolers and die hard fans of MMA would enjoy meeting them very much.

I met Riddle and Amir walking around. I met them and talked briefly. They offered themselves for pics. My Olympus (piece of crap)camera mechanical lens jammed when I turned it on. Riddle fixed it for me and I got a picture with Amir but then it died for good. Riddle looked so upset that he couldnt fix my camera.

Met Brandon and his wife. I approached them and said I was a huge fight fan. When he thanked me i told him i wasnt talking to him but his wife. I got a picture of him beating me over the head with a poster.

Had supper then got smashed with Joe and Sean the night before an event but I cant give more details about that one. Rules were broken.

Hung out with Rogan for drinks after one of his stand ups. He mentions it during the 109 broadcast.

Fun fact: I was the guy playing with the name JoeRogan on UFC Poker back in the day and Joe got really mad about that and ended up mentioning it 3 PPV in a row. We met and had a laugh about it.

Another fun fact: I told Goldberg to stop talking to me like a retard. He was talking slow and articulate to me like I didnt understand English because I told him my accent was French Canadian. His wife laughed, him and his brother didnt. Buffer was busy with his 2 young looking asian ladies.

Gonzaga lightly punched me in the nose by accident. He posed with me and was so excited that he fist pumped his gigantic hand into my face by accident.

Wow...Sounds like Goldie has his magic no matter where he goes. I met him in Houston too and he was at least a nice guy. He didn't talk....to....me.....slowww....lyy.... or anything like that but he was snapping pix with the staff of the event after it was over. A supervisor came over to yell at an employee who was taking her pic with MG and MG just waved his hand at the lady and told her to go away.

Gonzaga is cool too man. I met him at the first fan expo (may have been just after he KO'ed) CC but I can't remember. I remember him putting up his fist for the "fight pose" and it was the size of a volkswagen. I have a pic of that.

Thanks for sharing bro! Cool stuff. How did Rogan find out you were using his name? Did you actually just come out and tell him?

Oh, I just came up to him after his show and told him i was the Joe Rogan poker guy. Had drinks until the bar closed, did the pics and that was that. I ran into him only one other time but it was hi, how are you, bye.

After his loss to kongo I made this video of Pat. He loved it and shared it on twitter (he said he showed it to his mom o_O)

I asked him for tighty whiteys (new) autographed by his mom as a joke and he agreed but we never went through with it.

This is the ONLY not funny video I ever made but his emotion after the fight stunned me and I had to do it.

Here is an example of the retarded stuff I usually do

I met Pat Barry at a meet and greet. Kid in front of me was maybe 6-7 years old, and asked if he could punch Pat in the tummy. Pat says sure, kid punches him..get an auto and moves on.

I step up to get a photo, and he says "hang in a second man" and sort of leans forward holding his stomach. Rubs it a few times and lifts his shirt inspecting his stomach. He shakes his head and looks at me and said "that fuckin hurt, felt like the kid punched me with a needle" he laughed and I got a pic and auto.

I interviewed a drunk Mayhem once, at about 1am on the phone. The topics ranged from Tom Cruise's penis, banging Tila Tequilla, and Asian girls kicking banana trees in his backyard to train him...all brought up by him. Strangest interview of my life.

Never trained BJJ in my life. The one time I rolled, it was with Gurgel. I did bad. Lol

Almost got thrown our of an event by Dan Bobish, until he remembered who I was, an that I was supposed to be there. He apologized and was a cool guy after that.

A bunch more..but I am done typing on mobile for now. Lol

Bunch of other stories..but hard to type on mobile. Phone Post

The athletes and personalities involved is part of what makes MMA the motherfucking best sport on the planet. Most of the encounters and stories in this thread wouldnt be possible in other sports. I expect fighters to become less and less available as MMA keeps getting more main stream. We are fortunate to be able to live these moments *sad face*.

No problemo...

A while back I was in Vegas with my Ex Girlfriend. Stitch Duran walks up to her and says "hey where the hell have you been? Ive been looking all over for you. I called you...you cant pick up? Im really busy you were supposed to meet me and you were there. What happened?" I look at my ex...my ex looks at me...we both look at Stitch. She then says "excuse me but I dont even know who you are...Stitch looks at us both puzzled and then starts turning red in teh face. He looks closer at my ex (im assuming his eyesight is shit...which would be very odd considering his profession) and then starts apologizing over and over. He explained that he thought my ex was his niece and that he has been looking everywhere for her and cant find her. He was totallllly embarrassed. And here I thought that my ex had been creeping around Vegas after hours with Jacob Stitch Duran :)

That's awesome.  I've met Stitch before and he as hilarious.  He kept saying "oh, so you're part of LA Raza, right" And I was like "well, I'm Cuban, not Mexican, but I'll join you guys." LOL

And BTW: Thanks for your service in the military.  You rock!

Haha! Stitch is so awesome. I bumped into him again in Seattle last Sunday morning and he was eating a whole pizza BY HIMSELF at like 930 in the morning. I didn't say anything to him this time because he was eating but I should have snapped a pic :( Jeremy Stephens was also in there rocking some shades (for obvious reasons) but he was nice enough to sign a UFC glove that I had. I am like 99.9 percent sure that I also saw Shoguns Muay Thai trainer "DIDA" Amade chlling. Fuck that im 100 percent sure it was him. Dont know if you heard of him but I think he was shot in the head a few years back and actually survived. Also saw Karyn Bryant but didn't speak to her. She was not looking her best in the morning and I figured I shouldn't bother her. Ella es muy fea en la manana...no me gusta...

Anyways back to Stitch. In Houston I was taking a pee pee adn Stitch walked in. I noticed him right away while I was doing my biz as did everyone else. None of us said a word, because the guy code clearly dictates you dont talk to a man while he has his malanga (you are latin so you get it) in his hand. Anyways, Stitch unzips and starts to release the hounds when some pee pee face come RUNNING into the restroom shouting STITCH STITCH CAN I HAVE AN AUTOGRAPH! This is while the man is relieving himself. At that exact moment, the entire room full of other gentlemen starts screaming and shouting at the guy every dirty nasty insult you could think of. Stitch just smiled and kept pissing, washed his hands and then walked out. it was like he had his very own Piss Bodyguard Team. Ill never forget that.

LMCAO...that Stitch story is fucking crazy.
