Do any mexican boxers look like that? I can't really think of any other mexican high level athletes off the top of my head, but do any of them?

The bigger ones, yes (think Paul Buentello). Some of my best friends who are of Mexican descent (who are incredibly fit guys) are always saying that no matter how hard they try, they can't achieve that ripped look due to their "shitty Mexican genes". Phone Post

Thinking of it now, all the top Mexican boxers from DLH to Ceasar Chavez, JMM, Barrera, Morales, Margarito, were all not super muscular, well JMM obviously is now.

Vargas was all right but no specimens in there.
I remember in an interview with Vargas before his fight with Oscar I think, he had his shirt off and had just been working out and he said, ''Mexicans aren't supposed to look like this''.

He promptly failed his drug test. That was the first time I'd heard about Mexicans not being really ripped. It's proven true, no idea why. Phone Post

More so for certain nationalities (Samoans are probably the best example). Phone Post

The reason he is so fit is due to his calorie intake. He must eat at least 6 high calorie meals a day to give him the energy for his workout. If that means not looking like a bodybuilder then so be it. Phone Post

Im not asking for muscle, I'm wondering why the HW champ, a cardio machine, walks around at ~15-17% bodyfat Phone Post
Because he was created in the kitchen, not the lab. Phone Post

His physique is a reflection of an unhealthy diet. People here defending it is stupid. It's a simple question of how he eats, because obviously it doesn't effect his fighting negatively, but it is weird someone who is billed as a "cardio machine" can have such a high body fat percentage.

Fearless Winker -

were you even watching the fight or checking the fighters out??

Shit happens quick in fights so when did you get time to check Cain's body out?

This isn't some groundbreaking revelation I've made.. Unless you're half retarded, it's noticeable to see Cain fighting superhero Kongo, Lesnar and JDS and beat the piss out of them while sporting a flabby body. Not just beat the piss out of them but do it without gassing out Phone Post

The current top 3 Mexican heavyweights in boxing: Chris Arreola, David Rodriguez, and Andy Ruiz all have a flabby midsection.

Interesting. Why are the lighter weight Mexicans ripped if it's not a question of diet and training?

Its genetics as hard as cain works out probably 2-3 times a day maybe more its just genetics. Growing up in so cal with a ton of latino teammates I think ive only seen a few mexicans /mexican americans with what I would call awesome genetics and a couple of those were chicks.is what it is

Maize, tortillas, beans, rice and shredded cheese all make you fat.

Cain needs to go paleo.

Do you know how bloated you feel after eating mexican food? It's not about appearances. Some foods are just clearly bad for your body. I should know, I've got brown pride too.

You can get fat eating healthy as well. Fighters eat for function, part of that function is obtaining enough calories to recover.
