"Looks like a top LW free agent was available and they offered him 250k bonus and 70/70 a fight, lol, Bellator said ok, that's not a lot, good job low balling UFC"

You know that Ben Henderson's official salary is 39/39, right? Frank Edgar's is 50/50. Explain how Alvarez being offered 70/70 is a lowball.

Because he is a free agent with another company willing to pay the same that doesnt have or make the same amount of money as zuffa

If you want talent when competing against another org you have to pay, zuffa shot a low offer and Bellator matched it unlike Lombard who clearly was offered more money and Bellator said no thanks with the quickness

It is silly. Bellator should know that if they want to hold on to Eddie they need to do more then just match Zuffa offer, they need to surpass it.

The UFC is by far the bigger organisation. There Eddie will have more access to sponsors,he will have more ability PR to expand his brand, he will have better level of opponent and would generally be part of and organisation to offers more comfort and professionalism as well.

Nonetheless i do believe that Bellator is a league with great potential, Eddie would be a bigger star there if he stays and it would offer him more in the sense of job security. They have to match it with financial security though.

You cannot expect him to forgo a huge potential payout with his cut of PPV numbers (in the future though not right away) if you do not offer him more. Bellator is never going to make the succesful transition to PPV in the same way the UFC has done. Hence they either have to over him a gigantic cut of the PPV numbers on cards he will be competing in the future or they just need to make him a better cash offer.

He might still want to leave regardless but at least Bellator then showed to future fighters that there will to reward there champions and they are trustworthy.

This lawsuit is extremely bad PR and really not constructive for an organisation that is in the position that Bellator currently finds themselves.
