I broke my ankle about three weeks ago. It was a small crack in the lateral malleolus (outer bony protrusion) near the bottom. I also likely have some pretty decent ligament damage but haven't had a CT to have that evaluated. I am back to walking almost normal but still have swelling and bruising. I am wondering if anyone here has had a similar injury and how long it took to get back to light training? Phone Post

I broke mine and was back in two months doing light drills. I used drilling to help with rehab. They told me I wouldn't be walking for 6 months. The doctors couldn't believe how fast I recovered and I think getting back on the mats and doubling up on my rehab helped a lot. Mine was really bad too. Here is a pic of my left foot.

Holy shit man.... If you were back that soon then I should be back last week, haha. That is nasty looking. I originally thought mine was a severe sprain. Phone Post

That is awesome. I am hoping I can start back with light movements really soon. I did go to class last week and watched / worked a couple basic moves. Phone Post

It looks like you broke the fibula and tibia near the bottom as well as a full dislocation. Was there any other injuries? How did it happen? That looks like one of the worst breaks I have seen. Phone Post

Dude it depends on the person I am older I broke my Ankle and that was two years ago I still have issues with it when training . I didn't train at all for almost 6 months . mine did include ligament damage also.

Worst part was it happened at a gas station I stepped in a pothole that my foot fit in and down I went . Sucks to have a major injury in a freak accident and not be able to train due to it

Pretty much all that listed. They screwed the two bones together to allow the soft tissue to heal. They went in to take the screw or and it had broke. Phone Post

That sucks... I fell off a roof and the ankle popped on the landing.

Do you still have any major issues with it? Phone Post

I have better mobility but i am not sure that I would be worth much now as a training partner. I would like to come by soon though. I am gonna give it an another week and try some light drilling, I think. Phone Post

I have some nerve damage and if my inner ankle even gets tapped it feels as if I hit my funny bone. The top of the foot is weird too. Other then that I got 95 percent of my flexibility back but it's not as stable as it used to be. Phone Post

If there are no complications you can prob do light training at about 6 weeks.
