Been doing cleans for several years, wanna get into doing clean and jerk. Any tips or links to good instructionals? Why do they go into that lunge-ish motion on the overhead press? Is that what makes it a "jerk" and not a "press"?

The lunge you are referring to is a split jerk. There are two types of jerks, split and push. The split is more commonly used as to push real heavy weight due to lack of mobility and squatting power. Phone Post
