From his UFC on FOX 6 post-fight interview:

"I said before the fight and I'll say it again after. [Jackson] needs to work for people who can make him happy. I feel like we've done everything in our power for Rampage to make him happy. If there's somebody out there who can treat him better than we have, that's awesome [but] I do have the right to match."

The length of his matching period is unknown at this time, but we know of at least one promoter who's interested.

Would it be possible to just trade Rampage for Alarez? Both are unhappy. Bjorn wants Rampage, Alvarez and UFC want each other. 2 problems solved. Is this even possible? Phone Post

Dana has said before that he thinks matching is the scummiest thing you can do in the fight biz, but I have a feeling he will probably do it in the case of Bellator, just to attack them.

No he has said when you cut a guy or release a guy and try to use the matching rights thats scummy because you cut the guy or released him and now you want to keep him from another org.

Using the matching clause on a fighter with a contract thats up he has never said anything bad against that.

Dana will enforce his negotiated contractual rights as he sees fit. Doesn't mean he's a "cunt". Its just business. Phone Post

Bellator can't match a ufc offer for Page since he definitely has gotten ppv cuts. That's assuming these stupid judges understand and accept that the ufc is a viable ppv generating company Phone Post

So basically Dana wants bellator to think he will match to drive up their offer to rampage.

Personally I don't think UFC has any intention of bringing him back but that won't stop them from making anyone else ( like bellator) think they will. Phone Post

CREamed_by_DongJ - Rampage vs. Franklin is still a pretty intriguing fight, also Rampage vs. Sonnen.

There are big value fights for the UFC to put on still with Rampage, he will also be able to make major coin still in the UFC.

Rampage would actually be a fool to leave the UFC.

I agree those are interesting but the question isn't who's interesting but "who will he beat 100%?"

He's coming off three loses. How do you promote his next fight if he's lost 4 in a row?

Blasts Bellator for having matching clause in Alvarez contract

Has same clause in Rampage contract Phone Post

What are you talking about?

He never blasted them for matching Eddies offer or having it in the contract.

Only time he said it was scummy is when they cut or released a fighter and then went back and tried to match in order to keep him from fighting in another org.

He never bashed Bellator for having a matching clause in Eddies contract.

If you are gonna bash Dana atleast bash him for shit he has actually said.

Didn't Dana say if someone doesn't want to be there than you should let him go, or something like that, I may be wrong, but the UG hypocrisy is still funny in these situations

Rampage just seems so uninterested and half-assed in the cage now. It's almost impossible to believe he came into MMA as a wrestler considering how one-dimensional he's become.

IMO, he'd still make a good opponent for up and comers (Davis, Mousasi, Jimmo) but he may actually be more valuable to Bellator now as a big name guy who can draw and give King Mo a little more cred.

You are correct but many on the UG have commented on how big of a piece of shit Bjorn is for trying to keep Eddie by matching the UFC's offer, and of course they didn't release him.  It's funny when people say how shady it is when Bellator has a matching clause when the UFC has the exact same thing.

No people along with Eddie dispute they actually matched because of the PPV earning potential in the UFC compared to Bellator.

He never said Bjorn was a piece of shit by trying to keep Eddie by matching he said flat out pay him a true match of what he would make on PPV in teh UFC and they could have him.

The fans saying Bjorn is a scumbag by keeping Eddie thats just the fans who are pissed and want to see Eddie vs the best in the world.

Thats all that is, its fans upset Bjorn is trying to keep them from seeing eddie in big fights but Bjorn has every right to match the deal.

I hate Bjorn and think he is a scumbag but not because he is matching eddies deal.
