This sweep works great for me, do it correctly and it will be another high percentage move for your game too.

Very heavily reliant on the GI. Would like to see no gi variations on butterfly sweeps Phone Post

No problem! This same sweep is done with a two on one grip, No-Gi and when your opponent has gloves the wrist grip is even more secure.

Slick--and executed with serious authority.

I'm pretty sure my blue belt ass would actually be laughing in mid-air, trying to piece together what the hell just happened as I sailed ass-over-tea kettle.

It would definitely elicit a "HOLY CRAP!  That was awesome . . ." out of me once I hit the mat.

Very nice.

yup...love this sweep, b/c you always end up in side control rather than their guard. I just don't usually do it from butterfly itself. I usually get there from heavy leg defending of a single let pass...It's fantastic for that.

yeah id like to try this no-gi with a strong wrist control and maybe an arm around the neck. also it looks like if you are quick and hold onto the arm you could scramble up right to an arm bar. ....lets do this :) Phone Post

nah... good of an arm drag attempt where you're cupping behind the elbow and ideally trapping his wrist under your arm while the other arm reaches over his shoulder blad and cups his far lat. I think it's good to have your arm go over the near side shoulder blade to help control his posture.... He's got to be concerned about the arm bar too.

Great sweep, both Gi and no Gi. Obviously much more secure with the Gi. Marcelo uses this all the time, I have had very good success with it also. Marcelo dips his forehead all the way to his opponent's right hip when executing, this has been a big detail for me as far as commitment and success with this move. Phone Post
