pettis has waited and been more shafted than anyone..so even if you want to play the "Greenpeace for fighters' card, that is a losing argument...

It is a good fight and it should happen ASAP. The other challengers can wait like Pettis has had to. Can't wait for August. Who the fuck do you bet on in this one? Phone Post

pettis earned a title shot too...his record is more impressive than llamas who got ktfo by yuri...sure, it was in a different division, but are you guys saying that you never want to see superfights between weightclasses?

I want to see superfights, but I'd prefer it be champ vs champ unless it's at the tale end of someones career like Franklin has done, fight at moneyweight. If Aldo Ko'd Lamas and Pettis beats Bendo then I think having Aldo vs Pettis to see who would be a dual title holder would be better. Just my opinion.
To be fair pettis is the reigning WEC champion who got shafted out of hus UFC title shot. He is also the last man to beat the LW champ.

Not too far off... Phone Post

pettis/aldo is a dream matchup. i just wish pettis could have waited for his shot at bendo first. would have made more sense. i'm not mad at a 45er not getting aldo next, there's a pretty solid logjam of unclear contenders right now. maybe this will be the time where things become more clear. or it will just fuck everything up... who knows? it's a sick fight. but august??...

I literally do not even know who Lamas is. As far as I know, I've never even seen him fight and have no idea who he's beaten.

Pettis and Aldo are two of the three best, most dazzling strikers in the sport, and they will be about the same size. Pettis is already a title contender and WEC champ at 155. No one has been able to challenge Aldo because no one is good enough on the feet -- Pettis is.

Some fans would rather see guys they feel deserve the shot get it, the fight is terrible, bombs on PPV than a guy who is a top 3 LW coming down in what has the makings to be FOTY and a much bigger fight and do much better business.

Maybe some dont want the UFC to make big fights and do well.

To be honest though I thought zombie/Lamas were the two top contenders in the div, now you have them fight and the winner of that is the true number one contender.

I guess im in the minority but i do not give a fuck about ranking, i want the belt holder in each division to fight the guy with the best stylistic chance at winning. Pettis is that guy right now.

Thanks to the asshole that votes me down for making a valid point in the argument...that too, just like how UFC chooses fights, is a flawed system... Phone Post

No, just because the opinion is that it's the "better" fight certainly does not make the decision a just one...how bout a little integrity...the previous contender just got demolished by the guy... Phone Post

The Paragon -  Complaining because its bullshit...lamas EARNED it...Pettis should wait...it's bullshit politics...pulling a move like this us no better than what boxing does Phone Post

Exactly, I thought Dana had learned from all of boxings mistakes?

This is the complete OPPOSITE of what boxing did wrong.

Boxing wouldn't put together the matches that people wanted to see (like Pac-Mayweather), because neither fighter wants to risk his legacy and the promoters don't have any control.

This is basically making a MORE fan-friendly fight than the weight-class rankings-approved contender fight.
