Problem.

When using half guard bottom and your opponent has his Elbow across your throat or chin line to pin you or grind your face what is Marcelo Garcia's solution?

maybe the guys that train with him can pass on the ?

Really that's not a very effective way to pin at all. In reality if they want to keep you flat they will cross face you. Phone Post

If the are posting on your face, double sleeve grip and pull upwards. They will fall onto you and with a twist of the hip you can take the back. Works better with a nearside post unless you are good at the back take from the back step. Phone Post

Marcelo says, "You suck if you are being held down by an elbow".

Just kidding.

Sorry, I would have asked him if this was posted a couple of days ago- I'm back in Florida!

Take your right hand and push his elbow across his body. Sit up putting your left ear in his arm pit. When he tries to get his arm back he will be creating space. GET BICEP CONTROL!!!
