The Strikeforce crossover fighters continued to impress Dana White on Saturday night, but none more than Robbie Lawler, who handed Josh Koscheck the first losing streak of his career on Saturday night.

"Strikeforce had hungry fighters," White said following this weekend's historic event. "These f---ing guys are hungry. Most of them haven't fought in a year. They didn't know what was going on with their career. Couldn't pay their bills. All this s---. Now they're in here and they know what it was like to be (over there). They're hungry, man. I love it."

"The Strikeforce kids, they're going to raise the bar on all these other guys."

Are people still surprised that Dana will under- or over-sell fighters according to which benefits his interests?

He'll disparage a fighter completely one week and praise him to the heavens the next if it suits his business to do so.

omega 2013 -  He's wrong. You brought over several SF fighters already (Shields, Diaz, Bigfoot, overeem) and found out they weren't worth the hype. Phone Post

yeah, the guys you named above all suck ass. I can't believe they're still fighting honestly. All four guys look like shit in every fight. Bigfoot, Diaz, and Overeem are the biggest jokes in MMA.

There are guys at the local gym who'd clean the floor with any of them given the chance.......

Or maybe you're insane. One or the other.

Just Dana's latest ploy to light a fire under his comfortable UFC guys.  He'll go on and on about Bobby Green, but forget the Strikeforce fighters who lost.

Huh? That was Reem's only lost in 9 fights and he walked in the UFC KO'ing big bad Brock with little effort.

Reem hadn't fought since his suspension a year ago. I'll give you Shields and even Bigfoot, but Diaz? Come on.
Bigfoot has only lost to the current champ in his UFC run, the other times he's fought have both been instant "KO of the year" candidates.

and Brock was coming off injury...

name 1 top 10 fighter Diaz has beaten...don't just believe the hype b/c he "mean mugs" and talks trash. he can't beat anyone good. why do you think they gift him title shots? b/c he can't earn them by beating hendricks,macdonald,condit...

If brock didnt think he was able to take the fight after getting embarrassed by SF HW Champ Overeem, then he shouldn't have taken it!

Diaz sub'd Gomi on the biggest MMA stage in the world when gomi was ranked number 1 in the world. Diaz left the UFC on a two fight win-streak, he became a legend by TKO'ing Frank Shamrock, he knocked out daley when daley was riding a four fight win streak, and daley's last loss before fighting diaz was a title eliminator fight in the UFC. Then, Diaz comes into the UFC and smashes penn like no one has ever done before, then, he fights condit, and MANY, even joe rogan, believe that Diaz won rounds 1,2, & 5, myself included. There really are UFC fan-boys who just can't stand when other fighters from other organizations are actually good.

Your comprehension skills are lacking.

For anyone else who doesn't get it, Dana is talking about all of the unfortunate Strikeforce fighters that were forced to sit on the shelf for so long. Strikeforce was such a shitty place to be signed that they are fighting like they never want to leave the UFC. And honestly, it's great to see.

Shit, I think Noons is severely overrated, and going against a guy that is out of his league... but I completely expect Noons to come out and put his balls in the air.

Shields made a name for himself already, he did not have to prove himself. He beat hendo who is arguably in the top 3 greatest fighters category of all time. He also handled a whos-who list of top talent. Overeem came in and beat the UFC champ that was the champ when he was the SF champ. Big foot was a top 4 fighter in SF, and came into the UFC and lost to the number 2 HW in the UFC - who is now the current number one,so no surprise there. Diaz is fighting the champ right now in the UFC, so wait to talk trash until after that fight happens.

Brock was about getting paid.

And gomi was@ 160. Bj hasn't done anything@ww since Hughes. Daley lost! Shamrock was old and semi retired. Again, which of those fighters were top 10 @ ww? Phone Post

Gomi was ranked number one, BJ penn was top ranked at LW, and was in the top ten at WW for KOing Hughes and going to a draw with top five fitch at the time. Once daley got kicked out of the UFC the manipulated by the UFC media erased him from the rankings talk. And Shamrock left the UFC as the LHW Champ, his only loss coming after that before getting TKO'd by Diaz was to Cung Le, to whom many believe, when motivated and IN SHAPE, is one of the top MW's. Then we have Condit, who was top ranked, and as I have said before, many thought Diaz Won the fight. Diaz has the best Cardio in MMA, the best pure boxing, and is one of the top BJJ practioners in the game. Quit hating.

I don't agree that Strikeforce was a shitty place to be signed (before the talent pool was pillaged and sent to the UFC anyway)

That being said, those guys being in the UFC now is the best thing to happen to the UFC in a long time!

I dont think Dana typed that.  Usually he doesn't take the time to use proper grammar and refer to himself in the 1st person.

Lol, it's not like people were saying the worst UFC fighters were better than the best SF fighters.  I think it's pretty safe to say the top level sf fighters aren't as good as the top level UFC fighters.  There are no current champs that come from SF and Gil is the only guy they have that's even a #1 contender.  They're not mutually exclusive ideas.  SF can be seen as a minor leagues while still having guys that are hungry raising the bar on guys in the UFC who would be comparitively below thier level

Really the one issue I have with this quote is he throws out the troubles these fighters had in SF as if Zuffa didn't own them since 2011.

The time that Alistair was champ in SF, brock was champ in UFC, and Overeem TKO'd him like nothin. Then, GSP fought shields, and that fight was boring and Shields did NOT get dominated or "owned" - They both respected eachother. Belfort will get schooled by Rockhold, and Gil's taking the belt. Gegard will beat Gustafsson as well. I don't think anyone SF LHW will be able to beat jones, though (excluding cormier). Jacare will put a dent in the MW div. as well.
