Translated from french to english.

Imagine Georges St-Pierre and Lucian Bute who wage a small war in the ring. The mad dream of a sports fan? No, rather a scene that is repeated every week for a month. En primeur, La Presse attended yesterday sparring between GSP and Bute, who is preparing for his fight March 16 against Nick Diaz. Lucian Bute launches a big left hook to Georges St-Pierre. The same hook murderer who had doubled Librado Andrade. The UFC champion is limping along and a replica of a hook to the body. The ring, the pace is fast, frantic even. If these two were a band, their record is far from waltz and closer to death metal, say ... At ringside, the trainer Stephan Larouche shouts his instructions: "Hands high, Georges", "not get stuck in the cables!" "Finish your left hook." Georges St-Pierre trains in boxing with Stephan Larouche since last fall. The fighter has sought the services of coach Lucian Bute prepare for his return against Carlos Condit. Chemistry was quickly installed. "Stephan is a great strategist of boxing," said St-Pierre. Their association has never been more important than today. Nick Diaz, what will face St-Pierre in the UFC 158, March 16th at the Bell Centre is recognized as a big hitter. His specialty is boxing and St-Pierre knows. "Diaz is a good fighter, a good lefty, says GSP's coach, Firas Zahabi. This is not a guy who throws a lot of knees, elbows, but it has a very good boxing. George faces a really pure boxer. " To prepare for this mixed martial arts fighter in boxing and lefty specialist, St-Pierre in Montreal found a training partner all said: Lucian Bute, left and considered one of the boxers in the technique most refined on the planet. "Lucian is more accurate, faster and more powerful than Diaz. So if George can train at this rate, it will be ready for the fight, "says with confidence Zahabi. The modest fighter Yesterday, in a gym north of the city, both men have played three rounds of three minutes followed by two rounds of boxing ( shadow ) and a round of mittens. The Romanian-born Quebecers did not leave a centimeter in St-Pierre. He in turn trapped in the wires, kept at a distance, launched combinations and dodge his blows. When it came time to make mittens, hitting boxer rang louder in the gym than the champion welterweight (170 pounds) of the UFC. "It's hard for the ego to come here. I feel so far from Lucian, it looks like it does not force launches St-Pierre, covered in sweat and catching his breath. For me it is an honor to work with him. " The former IBF world champion tried to reassure him. "There's a lot of boxers who have less boxing than you. And I'm not saying this to flatter you, "said Bute. Larouche went further: "The strength of George is his jab. It has a beautiful jab, better than many boxers. " St-Pierre, as all UFC fighters, must be exercised in a variety of sports. He trains in boxing, but also the fight, jiu-jitsu, in athletics, gymnastics, muay thai, etc.. In all these fields, he enlisted the services of the best, brought to Montreal Brazilian champions, French or Thai. "George says all the time be the worst of the gang, while it is often among the best, even if it is not his favorite discipline, says Stephan Larouche. It is small and it is probably why he is so good. He did not turn round corner, it makes everything a little more time, it is careful, he wants to understand everything. " The training lasts about two hours. Later in the day, St-Pierre will make a session of athletics. Yesterday it was his last boxing training for his fight on March 16. Unless something unexpected, Lucian Bute at the Bell Centre will be to see his training partner Nick Diaz to be measured. When St-Pierre left the gym, Bute summed up what he thought of the athlete: "George is a guy who's always on time, who listens to what Stephan said, who did not swollen head, which does not take itself for another. This is a real good guy, a true champion. "

GSP does all he can to be the best. I love it. The money spent on his training camp has to be through the roof. Most fighters can't afford to pay that much on a training camp. A posters speculated most of these pros were helping GSP for free. I highly doubt that. Georges wouldn't pull that move anyway. Phone Post

much appreciation. its always good to hear top level mma guys seeking out other top level training. GSP being at the forefront of that movement. George recieved pretty high praise too, but i wonder how much more he will continue to develop

Bute is an overrated fraud. Can't wait to see him get merked by Pascal.

GSP doesn't spar pro boxers, 4 years ago when a top ranked boxer came into his gym, he refused to spar, just wanted pointers, and for the guy to hold the pads and walk him through it.

I'd need to see proof of that. Sounds exaggerated to me.

LOL at the GSP hater.  This guy shits on GSP whenever he gets the chance, and he's wrong about this one.  Freddie Roach is on record saying that when GSP comes to Wildcard he spars with the top boxers there.

Do you even realize you're posting in a thread where the main piece of news is GSP sparring with Bute, not any pro boxer.

I mean even if GSP wouldn't spar with a pro boxer in a certain scenario, so what? That's just a top pro athlete protecting his body for his profession.

He trains with freddie roach correct? Why aren't there any videos of gsp sparring pacqaio? Pacqaio is a very nice humble guy, and is not the sort of character that would try to show up gsp in sparring, yet GSP has no interest in sparring.

The comment is not strange but fact. Find one video of him sparring any boxer, you can't because it doesn't exist.

This is all a smokescreen. GSP is going to eat up Diaz with leg kicks and takedowns.

GSP didn't go for the kill against a one-eyed Koscheck that was probably in serious pain, so he certainly won't try to outbox Diaz.

so it is your firm and steadfast belief that GSP's boxing is a purely a product of him watching and getting pointers and then practicing techniques exclusively against non-boxer opponents.

you believe, and would like the world to also believe, that GSP has never sparred with a boxer?

just want to make sure i'm 100% clear on what you want me to believe.

So you're telling me, Andrade prepared for a bout against another professional boxer, by picking an mma fighter? and a canadian one at that?

They may have been in the same ring, they may have had exercizes together, they may have sparred lightly(love tapping), but I do not for one second believe that GSP has ever truly sparred against him, or any other boxer. MMA sparring is love taps, in boxing you can be ko'd during sparring, or receive a broken nose like I have.

GSP is on the record saying he doesn't like hard sparring, and doesn't belive it benefits his style in any way.
