Preferably something small, lightweight. I don't use it for gaming or watching movies.

hmmm...good point... 600 pounds is what? approximately $1200 USD? you should be able to get a very good desktop for that let alone laptop

I'm sure you can get an ultra book for around that price now but could be wrong.

Have a look on pc worlds/currys website for a price guide but don't buy from there.

I paid £800 for my MacBook Air and not to sound like an apple fanboy but its the best laptop I've ever used Phone Post

Yeah I was thinking about going for apple, but been a pc user all my life so was anxious to take the plunge, I also use Microsoft word and excel a lot so not sure if I could transfer all my files to mac!
