Chromium -

For fuck's sake get Julia Budd in there.

Maxwell can fight Fiona Muxlow or something.

I thought Julia went down to 135?

stonepony - It was an irrelevant fight anyway. Gomes was Ronda's first victim. Cyborg had zero to gain from this fight, unless she scored a knock out early in the first.

She would have stayed active and would be fighting a very tough 10-2 fighter with a very good track record (discounting Rousey). Gomes is no joke, and better than most of Cyborg's North American opponents. Cyborg needs to beat people decisively and test clean. She doesn't need an early KO, just a dominant performance. Beating Gomes was a pre-requisite to fighting Marloes Coenen anyway.

Anyhow, Knapp has announced on twitter a replacement fighter has stepped in and will be announced soon.

Also, Amanda Nunes is also injured, and Featherweight Lauren Taylor (4-0) is stepping in. Taylor is a decent boxer who also trains in BJJ but she's coming off like 18 months of inacitivty. While the Alaskan indy scene is surprisingly active, Taylor wasn't facing world beaters. I'll have to predict Kaitlyn Young to win here, and really she could use a win.

Was looking forward to Nunes so that kind of sucks.

Just for the fight against de Randamie, apparently. Anyway she was originally slated to fight Gomes in a title eliminator (winner fights Coenen) at 145 before Cyborg stepped in, and now is slated to fight Fiona Muxlow (who also has always fought at 145). So  yeah, if nothing else, 145 is definitely where Invicta wants to use her.

After reading the tea leaves on twitter though, signs point to it not being Budd that is stepping in to fight Cyborg, although I have no idea who. I'm a bit curious now. Milana Dudieva would be interesting but getting a visa on two-weeks notice is rather daunting.

I guess that's true. If she tests clean, that will at least be something. She can get that from any opponent though. I would think that fighting Ronda's first pro arm-bar victim isn't exactly ideal though.

If Gomes even lands a punch, she'll have done better than she did against rookie Rousey.

Creepy ready for Cyborg:

I say Yes ...before anyone asks ie @danawhite @ufc if I will fight cyborg at the next invicta show

I hope we've reached the point in our development as a society that we can recognize Creepy's right to test himself in competition against an opponent of the gender of his preference. No more will his desire to punch females in the face be denied.

If this doesnt happen it is complete discrimination and should not be tolerated.

I like Uncle Creepy and all, but I think Cyborg takes that. I wanted to see Gomes and Cyborg fight, and from the pictures between the two and Fox, I think Fox would be my first choice to bang, gun to head.

Usually other people pose that question to you rather than you posing that question to yourself. You may have a subconscious hard on for Fox.

I dont think normal people go around saying "hmm, would I fuck that bitch if I had a gun to my head?" But whatever. I aint judging. Whatever floats your boat.

Muxlow is fucking crazy. Phone Post

"KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 20, 2013) –Pound for pound great and vicious KO artist Cris Cyborg (10-1, 1 NC) of Curitiba, Brazil will square off with  rising star Fiona Muxlow (6-2) of Townsville, Queensland Australia in a featured featherweight (145 pounds) bout at the Invicta Fighting Championships women’s Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) world championship doubleheader event at Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City after a rib injury sustained in training camp forced Cyborg’s original opponent Ediane “India” Gomes to withdraw from the scheduled matchup, Invicta FC officials announced today......."

glad they were able to find a replacement.

BTW was Invictafc.com always that awesome? holy shit, the UFC.com designers should take note. very simple but with all the good stuff (vids/pics/info)

Muxlow gonna get raped.

She's a can crusher extraordinaire. Here are the records of the women she has beaten

0-1
0-2
0-1
2-1
1-1
0-1

The only fighter of note she has faced is Marloes Coenen, and Marloes finished her in the first round. She was also finished in the first round by 2-1 Cindy Hales.

I'd also like to point out that Muxlow is ranked #8 at 145 in the 'Unified Women's MMA Rankings'

http://www.mmarising.com/rankings/unified-womens-mixed-martial-arts-rankings/

Seriously?

Is the talent really that AWFUL at women's 145 that a woman with Muxlow's record deserves a #8 ranking?

Or is it simply a lazy ranking because Muxlow recently fought one the best known fighters in the sport (Coenen) and they figured she must be decent if she got a fight with Marloes?
