This is the flyweight title fight from the recent Warfare MMA event in Myrtle Beach SC. There has been some local controversy about the stoppage being to early. What does the UG think? BTW- if you are in the Myrtle Beach area you should go to the Warfare events, and if not you should look for the video feeds on warfaremma.com. The cards have always been very good.

not got a problem with it my self

sais it all when the commentator wont give an opinion until he see's the replay. The ref doesn't get that luxury.

That was not early at all. The guy on bottom was turtling and making minimal effort to improve position or at least sneak out the back. The guy on top was bouncing his head off the mat.

Maybe the guy on bottom was letting the guy on top burn himself out but you can't blame the ref for that stoppage. He saved the guy on bottom about a thousand brain cells.

From what I could tell, the guy on the bottom was doing all he could to defend himself. If the guy on top is skilled it's hard to escape until he makes a mistake.

This type of stoppage is why stuff like Lesnar vs. Carwin happens. With some refs if you bring enough heat with your attack, he is going to stop it regardless of what the other guy is doing.

So some fighters just go apeshit throwing as many strikes as possibly even if they aren't very effective, figuring that the ref will step in and call it.
