Light heavyweight champion Jon Jones doesn't believe that Chael Sonnen believes.

"He just doesn't believe," said Jones. "And that's why he comes up short in every opportunity he has to be a champion. He doesn't have a champion's soul, heart, work ethic.

"Nothing... He's not a champion. He's not made out of championship stuff. He just wants that spotlight. He wants that opportunity. He wants that big fight, and I'm gonna give him what he wants. I will defeat Chael Sonnen in an extremely devastating fashion."

Jones and Sonnen fight at UFC 159 on April 27, 2013 live on PPV from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

I hate to say it, because I love me some Chael, but Jones is bringing the correct.

Sonnen always finds a way to lose.

I'm pulling for Chael with all my will, but Chael will start out strong and look awesome... Then, he will do something INCREDIBLY stupid and get finished. Phone Post 3.0

Stephen Holder - At this point I want any title in the UFC to change hands, except in the case of Cain. I'll pull for whoever Jones fights and not necessarily because I dislike Jones but because shit needs to be shaken up (esp. at 170,185 and 205.)

That said and I hate to say it but I think Jon is right. Everyone keeps saying that Chael is such a great coach on TUF but I don't see that at all. Hes a total defeatist. He makes it easy for his guys to be weak like he is, telling them shit like 'its always an option to lose' and says shit that lets doubt seep into their mind. I don't get why hes like that. People talk so much shit about how hes a quitter but in reality that's his whole mentality. I'm still pullin for Chael but I'm not betting on him.

I don't see anything wrong with acknowledging the possibility of defeat.

The most dominant winner in the history of MMA (Fedor) said the same thing before every fight. Anderson has said the same thing. So has GSP. Only mentally weak fighters need to bury their head in the sand and ignore the possibility of losing.

That's how I see it going down too.

Chael is physically gifted and skilled enough to give anyone problems, but his mind will always betray him at some point.

Well Jones should win, but it would be a serious mistake to underestimate Chael. He definitely has the ability to grind out a win, and I'm not sure I see Jones pulling a sub out of his ass if it goes into the later rounds.

Here's hoping for a great fight.

IMO, the first 30 seconds of this fight will determine a whole lot for Chael. I don't see Chael standing with Jones at all. He's not that stupid. If he's able to take Jones down and control him like he did Silva in their first fight, it could be a competitive fight (assuming he can hold Jones down without getting subbed). If Chael goes for that TD in the first 10 seconds and gets stuffed, I don't see this fight lasting more than a couple minutes. Unfortunate too, cause I really like Chael.

Why is he like this? It seems like he kinda just "gives up" or "wants out" of the fight?

I LOVE Chael, I think he is one of the hardest workers in MMA. The story of him promsing his Dad he will be Champion on his death bed and saying "all this will be for nothing if I lose" is really touching to me. I hope he somehow pulls this off!

Wow you are an absolute idiot. This post is sheer stupidity.

Chael says it's always an option to lose... then he goes on to emphasize that you must find that ONE reason to push on to win. Chael has 27 wins and won almost every minute of every fight he has been in other than being subbed a few times by world class BJJ experts. You're criticizing him for that? He's always tried to fight the most dangerous competition possible while other people try to pad their records. Jones fought a middleweight for his last fight and meanwhile he's basically a heavyweight. Get a clue you idiot.

Nobody has questioned Chael's work ethic before inside or outside of the cage. Not only is his conditioning top-tier but he also is a business owner, coach, promoter, and television commentator.

Comparitvely what the hell does Jones do in his free time? Make more babies out of wedlock and crash Bentleys in drunk driving incidents? What a fool.

When Chael says that MMA is full of high school dropouts with fake gold teeth he's referencing people specifically like Jon Jones. Their stunted mental development inhibits their ability to form coherent, logical thoughts.

JBJ chops a guy that never beat anyone @205 ever (last @205 lost to Babalu) and is coming off a loss for fun. I think he can be blind drunk and win easy.

Pathetic match up by Dana. BUT........ TY for the $$$$

Not sure how holder doesn't grasp the psychology of what Sonnen is doing when he tells his team things like that.

It's amazing how people act like Chael has a mental deficiency to find a way to lose. He has an incredible wrestling record. He's fought tons of guys and won most minutes of each fight he's been in.

When he fought the best fighter alive, Anderson, he won for for 23 minutes straight via hard work and was exhausted when he got caught by a submission. He was effectively the WEC Middleweight champion but didn't officially receive a belt because Paulo Filho was a bum who couldn't make weight.

Chael doesn't have an issue with finding a way to lose. He constantly challenges himself more than the vast majority of fighters and occasionally gets caught in a submission. Oh well.

Exactly.....Jones says he wants big money fights yet he's doing a pretty shitty job of selling this event. Did he learn nothing from Chael?
