mmavixen what prompted you to make this thread?  Was it Melvin Guillard on the mma hour talking about Rocky 3 motivating him?

Anyways, any Rocky movie, Rudy, and this is really inspiring:

HBO has been showing a different Rocky movie every day and I've been watching them. I've never boxed in my life, but I'll be damned if those movies don't make me want to learn.

I think I've seen each Rocky movie at least thirty times. Lol Phone Post

mmavixen -  Is it Bloodsport where Van Damme gets down with the tank top and does a booty split that would make strippers proud? Phone Post

That's Kickboxer, not that I was paying attention to that...anyway

Rocky 4 has the best training montage ever, HEARTS ON FIRE MFERS

Rocky 2 is one of the originals that had everyone running around and shadow boxing afterwards

Bloodsport!

No Retreat No Surrender

Best of the Best inspired me to start Tang Soo Do (there was no Tae Kwon Do near me)

The Perfect Weapon was also an inspiring one back in the day for me.

I have never been more scared in my life than when me and my cousin went to see Rocky IV when it came out in the theater. The theater was 2 streets from a decent size project. The theater was full and out of the 100+ people me and my cousin were the only white people. When Drago killed Apollo everyone in the place went fucking bananas. I guess it kind of helped that we were just as pissed as my cousin stood in his seat yelling "press the button... Nuke every Russian"

Awesome story.

I went to the movies (I think I was 7 or 8 years old) and my entire immediate family went to see it.  (Cubans love anything to do with boxing). We went to a midnight show and I remember thinking I was an adult because I was up so late.  When Rocky beat Drago, every one was standing in their seats.  It was absolute pandemonium, maybe that's why I love the movie so much. I also remember sitting next to my grandfather who was a boxer in Cuba pre-Castro and he had tears in his eyes.  Adore this movie.

Big Trouble in Little China

The thread is "movies that inspire you to train"...

....not GREATEST MOVIES EVER MADE IN THE HISTORY OF CINEMA!!!  Long live the Porkchop Express!

Hell yeah that movie got me pumped!

Jack Burton's a truck driver dude that wipes out a kung fu God - it's all in the reflexes - how can that not get you pumped?

I'm not saying I've been everywhere and I've done everything. But I do know this is a pretty amazing planet we live on here. And a man would have to be some kind of fool to think we're all alone in this universe.

Like I told my last wife, I said "Honey, I never drive faster than I can see. Besides that, it's all in the reflexes."

Just remember what old Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right in the eye and says "Give me your best shot. I can take it."

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, looks you crooked in the eye, and asks you if you paid your dues; you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have you paid your dues, Jack? Yessir, the check is in the mail."

Which Lo Pan? Little ol’ basket case on wheels, or the ten-foot-tall roadblock?!

Would you stop rubbing your body up against mine? Because I can’t concentrate when you do that...

What does that mean? ‘China is here?’ I don’t even know what the hell that means! All I know is this Lo Pan character comes from out of thin air in the middle of a goddamned alley, while his buddies are flying around on wires, ripping everyone to shreds...and he just stands there, waiting for me to drive my truck straight through him?! With LIGHT coming out of his mouth?!

Sit tight, hold the fort, keep the home fires burning. And if we're not back by dawn...call the president.

I swear to God I clicked that damn vote up button like 50 times.

There should be something like I can squander 10 of my vote ups to give an espcially awesome post another vote up if I want.

That would be awesome.

TTT, VTFU, and keep having excellent cinematic taste!
